For us it's the same - #1 reason the kitchen counter is always piled with crap. I don't know how people throw it away either, but I also don't know what to do with it all!!! Lydia has a couple of bins under her bed that are crammed full of preschool artwork. We have no more room for this and so far we've only made it to Kindergarten and 2nd grade!wootinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02806282812786913215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970661341243634764.post-25374313966904077912009-05-17T09:45:00.000-04:002009-05-17T09:45:00.000-04:00Well done :) Stuff like this makes such a differe...Well done :) Stuff like this makes such a difference (even if it eventually devolves back into madness, which is what always happens for me).Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16576423556338152104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970661341243634764.post-89262879921292741132009-05-16T23:09:00.000-04:002009-05-16T23:09:00.000-04:00Feels good, doesn't it? I'm almost spitting out my coffee I'm laugh...Emily,
I'm almost spitting out my coffee I'm laughing so hard. You should see my bedroom. It's disgusting... and I don't use that term exaggeratively. No human should have to sleep under such conditions. The girls spilled a box of buttons all over the floor last week... and they are still there... it's so bad in there that I was just like "what's the point?" and left the buttons to boot. It's been fun getting those stuck to the bottom of my feet all week. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to tackle it. The big problem in there is that there is just NO storage and the room is so small... it can never be a haven.

Kids' craft shit and school shit is just ridiculous. It's the number one cause of our kitchen counter horizontalitis... because the stuff truly has no home and we don't have enough storage space to give it a home... nor (in most cases) should we actually save it. I just LOVE the 3 D art projects ;) I really don't know how people purge that stuff though. I've been thinking (if we had room for it) that getting Kid a "curio" cabinet of sorts would be good and she could keep her 3 D stuff in there on display... and it would be her problem. Unfortunately the girls share a room and Baby would LOVE to get into something like that.Mrs Furioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18082932653215907248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970661341243634764.post-7357332044081685132009-05-16T21:02:00.000-04:002009-05-16T21:02:00.000-04:00I really do think you might faint. I have mine in a bin under the bed and I never want to even look for anything in there due to the chaos, let alone actually SEW anything.

My next organization project is the kids craft cabinet - in our teeny kitchen we have one whole cabinet dedicated to this stuff and it is STILL a continual disaster.* I need some sort of brilliant solution that has so far eluded me.

*magnified by the issue of what on earth to do with the mountains of paper that come home from school every day (that I am not allowed to throw out). honestly that is 50% of the reason I look forward to summer - 11 weeks of not having to manage the daily paper tsunami.wootinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02806282812786913215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970661341243634764.post-20910917681548623272009-05-16T18:38:00.000-04:002009-05-16T18:38:00.000-04:00Emily,
"You'd faint from the horror."
hardly... I'...Emily,
"You'd faint from the horror."
hardly... I'd probably just feel at home.

This was a big accomplishment since those hanging shelves now hold about 40 different fabric pieces... and it's like a whole new world. Before every time I was searching for a spool of thread or a needle or ANYTHING I had to completely dump out these huge bins of "craft stuff"... never to be fully put away again. I'm hoping this is easier to maintain.Mrs Furioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18082932653215907248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970661341243634764.post-55896595205095154842009-05-16T18:11:00.000-04:002009-05-16T18:11:00.000-04:00Wow - so organized!
