Welp

If weight gain were a symptom of breast cancer, I'd have 3.

I guess I'm relieved, yet more than a little alarmed, that I wasn't just overreacting.

Went to the doctor this afternoon.

Mammogram is already scheduled...

for Friday.

Trying not to put the cart before the horse on this one.

But that is proving very difficult.

Luckily, Mr F has completely shut down.

Thank you, ladies. I have definitely been stressed and on edge about this for the last couple of weeks.

Yes, I have a family history on both sides, unfortunately. My mom and my dad's sister were both in their early 40s. My dad's mother also had breast cancer. So, they're taking this seriously. I've had a strange pain in one of my breasts for 3 months. I was kind of waiting it out, to see if it went away, or if I could tell if it was correlated to something. And I have fibrocystic tissue... so lumpy... so difficult to tell what's up. I went in for the pain, but she felt changes since my check up in December, while I was there. So we're doing the mammo right away to be sure, and so I can have peace of mind ASAP.

One thing is for sure, Mr F could absolutely not handle it... so... I'm really hoping it is clear and we have nothing more to worry about!

I also had some weird pains in my breast and went to the OB - she recommended a mammo. Freakout. After mammo, they suggested biopsy. Freakout. After biopsy, all clear. Whew. I pray you have the same experience (and maybe no biopsy - not fun).

Thinking of you today.

Is this your first mammo? Shit, what a way to go into it.

I've read somewhere that if there is pain, there is usually NO cancer. Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

Hopefully I'll know something when I get back.

Julie,
Yes, this is my 1st. I'm not too stressed about that though... can't be worse than that horrible botched spinal tap a couple of months ago.

Jen,
that is what I thought, too... which is why I put this off for a couple of months. Turns out pain can be one of the symptoms. Still pretty hopeful that this is going to turn out to be a cyst.
