The Camera Don't Lie

I have been struggling to have the energy to get on the treadmill the past few nights. And I found myself back in the old.."maybe this is as good as I'm going to be able to get" mental place. For obvious reasons my weight loss is slowing up and even my measurements aren't really showing a significant difference. But the camera don't lie folks... and these pictures are keeping me going.

Start taking your "Before" pictures NOW because this is what they can do for you...

The last time you saw me I looked like this:

And today (drumroll please) I look like this:

These pics are just under 2 weeks apart.

And for a little refresher (and I kind of gag when I see this) ... This is what I looked like Exactly 2 months ago!

And in case you are wondering there is only a 13 pound difference between today's photo and this one! And the really disturbing thing is that I actually thought I looked good in this picture!

(Please note that I have just worked out in all the pictures... and in this last one my post work out braid is rather unfortunate looking! I don't look that bad in real life I swear!)

Katieo,
I've decided endorphins=crack! Whenever I'm done working out I always think I look like a bad ass. It helps that I'm usually waching BL reruns so that comparatively I do ;) If it weren't for that I would never have had the balls to take these pics!

Speaking of BL I've decided Allison is a better host. I loved Caroline's quirkiness but Allison seems so much more engaged.

Oh--and I meant to add the other day-I, too, love your labels. Sometimes they are my favorite part of the posts just b/c they're so clever. ;)

Oops--I had written a previous comment but failed to enter my account id properly so I just realized it never published...About your pics--awesome. and 117???!!! I am speechless. And stoked. The diet part of this week has been really hard--I am using the calorie count website and it is definitely a wake-up call! I have to keep my calories pretty low for now to see any appreciable weight loss in the time-frame I'd like. I want some results fast just to get myself pumped. So I've been starving this week (my period probably isn't helping--sorry, Matt!)and the site has helped me realize how often I would reach for a snack if I wasn't keeping track. I will have to find some healthy and filling alternatives soon b/c I have trouble keeping under my limit. Back to your pics--great idea. I am chicken, but may do some this week. I know it will help when, like you said, the scale doesn't seem to be moving much but you can see the changes continue in your body's shape/fitness. Bravo!

Eileen,
How low are you going?
I'm sure you figured out how to use Calorie Count's tools and whatnot. I have found their calorie limit that they calculate for you to be VERY accurate! I was always eating a little over that to account for the b'feeding. But I've polled other people and they are on the money!
If you are pms right now and not seeing a loss DO NOT get discouraged. That happened to me and if you stick to your guns you will see a big drop the week after.
Do not go so low calorie wise that you sabotage and be sure to get a treat you can have that you like!

Good luck and I am very proud of you! The first 2 weeks are the hardest! :)

Well-when I used their tool to figure out my calorie count I used the "light activity" mode since I am not couch potato but have not been very consistent working out and the next step after light is for people who are active in their work all day. But this week I have exercised Sun., Mon., Tues. and Thurs. Not too bad. I figure if I am actually more active than the category assumes it can only help. They had me shoot for 1400 calories b/c I made my goal to lose 15 lbs. by Xmas. (I think that's what I put--I originally put 20 lbs but they calculated I'd reach my goal in late January and I felt I wanted to reach something by the end of 2007. So if I do hit that goal, I will have a new goal for 2008. Yesterday and Tuesday seemed really hard and I felt hungry all day but today was much easier. I may have even ended up under...of course when I figured out that I had "extra" calories I let myself have some graham crackers and I think it was as much "because I can" as actually being hungry! Oh,well. I am taking it a step at a time. Having fun! When I feel like not working out at least now it is "not opitonal" in a way and afterwards I always feel better...

Eileen,
Sounds like you are in a good place. You adjust and the hungry element isn't so bad. I'm never too hungry now. I also have been known to eat to my calorie limit just because I've got some left over... I just did it now!
