Still Kickin' It... albeit a little more slowly & with less intensity

People, I don't even know what to tell you.... How does life go this fast?!

It is ridiculous.

If I think too much about that, I'll cry.  So let's just move on...

About 2 weeks ago Kid & I ate some tainted raspberries and got E. coli.  That is no fucking joke.  Extreme stomach pain.  Extreme.  Like... I thought I was having a heart attack level of sudden onset extreme pain.  Wash your produce, peeps!!! (FYI they were organic... still wash 'em)

So, that's what I've been up to since we last spoke.

Things were going better after about 10 days but I'm having pain again all of a sudden and so I'm trying to get into the doctor to make sure I don't have some kind of weird inflamed organ or something.

Which, knowing me... I probably do.

Why?!?!!

And I just got a note from Baby's school.

Lice.

Kill me.

But, not slowly through a weird inflamed organ.

Maybe we are going to Disney World over Thanksgiving.  (maybe)

Driving.

Didn't I say I'd never do that again?

That it was Hell on wheels. (literally)

I'm scared. (hold me)

Well, airfare is just too much for all four of us.

I think we'll probably stay offsite at the Caribe Royale. (we LOVE that place, btw)

Baby is loving her new school.

(j/k... she wishes..)

This week I'm making Pork Chops w/ rice pilaf & sauteed apples, Chicken & Noodles, Potato & Leek Soup, Chili w/ cornbread, & Chicken Tortellini w/ bacon & peas (so far).

I try to make as many big kind of casserole-y/stew/pasta type meals as possible during the week so that I have leftovers to pack up for lunch.  We typically have pesto pasta (w/spinach & peas & chicken) once a week for this purpose. Baby would eat that every single day for lunch.  I try not to get any take-out or go out to eat Sunday - Thursday so that I have leftovers ready for lunch the next day (my kids pretty much shun sandwiches).  I feel so much pressure around their lunches that we actually came home early from a weekend trip so I could make dinner... so we'd have lunch ready! We usually have pizza on Fridays and we're often on a road trip on Saturday.

*********************************************

I had a bad workout week last week (for obvious reasons plus chaperoning a field trip & supervising a PTL function all day).  But I did still manage a couple.  I was hoping I'd be back on track this week, but I'm going to sit it out until I figure out what's up with my stomach pain.  Seems wise... although, I have to really fight my internal crazy.  Which is probably a good thing.  I still have to work hard on my extremely rigid perfectionist tendencies.

Wow, I hope you'll feel better soon and don't die from an inflamed organ!

No hilarious stories from either the field trip or the PTL function? ...and I have to agree w/ katieo: that picture *is* hilarious, maybe a glimpse into the future?! ;)

Read an article from eating well magazine that said organic has high instances of E. coli. WTF? Sorry your family got hit and wishing you the speediest recovery possible!
