Mission Organization: Part 212

Today's mission:

Pack up all the winter clothes, gloves, scarves, hats, coats, and boots that I didn't wear this season. Let's face it if I didn't find a way to work it in this year what are the chances I'll miss it next year? Slim to none. Good bye Target holiday (subtle holiday, people, I swear) sweater I bought 4 years ago. J.Jill sweater?... yes I liked you (and your funky asymmetry and giant kilt pin) two years ago but you didn't see the light of day this year and so we have to part.

UPDATE:
Clothes to Give
Clothes to Sell
Kid's size 5 hand-me-downs
Clothes to Donate
Baby Stuff for SIL

Oooohhh...ruthless cleaning!! LOVE that, but you gotta be in the mood to let it all go! Unfortunately, if I parted with the clothes that were stained/ugly/don't fit right, I would be left with one pair of jeans (and honestly they are too big now too)...hmmm...naked mommy...probably not a pretty sight! (though if we DID live nude, I wouldn't have to do laundry...)

Back to the subject..good luck with your big cleaning and decluttering!

I totally do this every year. If you didn't wear it this year, out it goes.

Good JOB!!

Doesn't it feel good to get rid of stuff?

I have a meditation garden, I swear, from my brother that I know he spent $50 on (it's unopened) and long story -- but he figured out I was selling it on Craigslist, and I feel terrible, and can't get around to selling it. But fear not, the upcoming Preparing for Baby Hansen Purge of 2008 is coming. And that meditation garden is going.

marie,
" though if we DID live nude, I wouldn't have to do laundry..."
hmm... that is a nudist perk I hadn't considered ;)

Nutmeg,
I even discarded a Coach bag I've been hanging onto for the past 15 years... and so yeah it's incredibly outdated... someone at the Salvation Army will be really pleased with that one.

Heather,
Oy the mediation garden... how on Earth did he know it was you?!?

I had a web photo album called Craigslist, and I sent him a link to other photos, and he snooped around to see what other albums I had on it. Damn. He took it really well; I haven't recovered, obviously.

Shirls,
And yet it hasn't made a dent....
Sometimes we secretly wish for a house fire just so we could be liberated from all the "stuff" ;)

I do ruthless every month or so. I'm afraid I can't participate in this one, because I am pretty much ruthlessed out. Give me another month. Hubby will bring a bunch of crap into the house between now and then and give me some new "materials" with which to work.
