We haven't turned the heat on yet but we did start the gas logs this am to sit by and warm up! Something about an old house always feels a lot colder....
Lori-my best friend lives in Arizona so when I start complaining about being cold all I have to do is call her and she shares w/ me how how hot it is there...i like having seasons but I certainly prefer warmer weather!
I really didn't want to turn the heat on... I was kind of excited about keeping our utility bills so low (cheaper than any bill we ever had in AA... maybe because it's a one story and we're not always compensating for a hotter/colder upstairs?... maybe because those ugly awnings actually work?) for another month. Mr F is a wuss with a capitol WUSS and wanted me to turn it on last night for fear of how cold it would be this morning. I didn't do it... but when we got up and the kids feet were like ice on our hardwood floors I felt bad and turned it on.
Elizabeth, You can do it... only 2 more weeks!
Lori, whats crazy is that it was mid 80s just a couple of days ago! I much prefer the cool weather...
Elizabeth, Yes that might help... but I'm with you on the fresh air. I also actually like it to be pretty cold when I'm sleeping... Mr F on the other hand has been known to sleep in a ski hat.
It's fall here in Florida, too. We have highs in the low to upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s to middle 60s. I'm loving this cooler weather. I still have the a/c on during the day, but at night we open the windows.

My fingers are freezing!
But I vowed not to use the heat or the air-conditioner all month!

It was very nice until I got up, then my fingers were very chilly!
I hear we may have frost in patches tonight.
