I'm home.
Yesterday... well... was one of the worst experiences of my life.
What started as a headache suddenly became severe back of the head & neck pain.
I thought they'd poo poo me at the ER but they in fact take that very seriously.
I have the huge bruise on my back, and what feels like a major hangover, to prove it.
All is clear.
The only thing they think might be to blame is the Imitrex, which I took for the first time 30 minutes before the onset of neck pain.
That's the story.
I feel a bit like I've been put through the wringer (physically & emotionally... since having them tell you you might be in the middle of a life threatening brain bleed... well... that was rough).
I mean really REALLY rough.

Oi. I went through that a few years ago and it was awful. Did the CT and spinal tap thing, too. Glad all is clear! Rest today if you can.
Oh I'm so sorry!!
I had a really bad reaction to Immitrex too but it wasn't *THAT* bad. I'm so glad you're ok and it wasn't anything serious.
So sorry you had to go through all of that. I hope you're able to get some rest and hopefully these headaches will ease up on you. Poor thing!!!
Yikes -- I'm so sorry! I hope you're feeling better today, and can have some time to rest. Here's also hoping that they find you a better medicine that won't put you in the ER!
So relieved you checked out okay.
Now let's get to the good stuff:
THE DOCTORS DID KEEP REFERRING TO ME AS "SKINNY" AND "THIN"... SO... IT WASN'T ALL BAD.
awesome.
ugh i am so so so sorry. how truly scary. i hope you feel better each day and i really hope you figure out this migraine thigny. my good friend here who gets them so bad has been taking stuff vivix (i sell it from shaklee) and we read up on it and i gave her a sample month pack. so far so good, if it cures her, i am sending you some.
do you feel better?
not meningitis then either?
Scary shit!
Elixabeth,
I feel bad bad bad... but the meds they gave me in the ER did get rid of my headache. Just the spinal tap has made me feel hungover and my back hurts like fucking hell now.
But, yeah, it scared me to death. Never had anything like that happen before. they don't know what it was but suggest I not take the Imitrex again just in case.
I'm so so sorry that something meant to make you feel better made you feel so unbelievably badly. (Morphine is my kryptonite). I hope the neurologist will test the next suggestion on you before sending you home with it!
Mrs. Skinny...err...Mrs. F-
You need some comfort food...like in the form of a chocolate cake or something.
Glad to know that you checked out ok!
So what do you do now without the drugs. Broke my heart to read this.
My aneurysm was discovered when I was eight months pregnant with my sweet girl. I thought I was having a stroke, and so did the ER. Anything brain-related is very, very frightening. I'm glad you're okay and that you find something to help the migraines that doesn't make you feel like you're dying, you skinny thing, you.
So glad everything checked out ok, but so sorry you had to go through such an awful experience. Thank you for posting... I was so worried!
Getting caught up...I'm so sorry this happened, and I can't imagine the way you felt or the way you feel now. If you can't take the Imitrex, what can you do for the migraine pain? There has to be a better answer for you...Hope you are resting and are feeling better soon!
