Down 1.5

Success.

I have to say that after 3 weeks, I really do feel like I'm back in a groove.

Fighting myself less.

Much less.

I just takes time to break yourself in.

So, 3 weeks... 4 pounds.

I'm finally starting to see a difference in my clothes, which is always very motivating.

Again (if you care... and please feel free not to), I'm shooting to workout for 60+ minutes 6 days a week. This is just what works for me, and last time (and this time) allows to me to visibly see a pretty fast fat loss in my body.

Someone asked what exactly I'm doing... I am walking on a treadmill focusing on interval incline changes. I walk at a fast pace (I'm short so for me that is 3.3- 3.4 depending on the day... 3.5 and I have to jog... so use that as your guide) and change my incline every 1/8th of mile. That is a distance that is easy for me to track on my treadmill... it is around 2 minutes. I typically alternate 0% with 7% than 0% with 9% repeat until I've gone a mile. Then I do 0% followed by 12% for an intensity blast, then go back to the original 0,7,0,9,0,7,0,9 for another mile followed by another blast with 0,12. I recover with 0,7,0,9, and then cool down at 0% for the remaining 1/2 mile or so until I reach my time limit. Confusing enough?! This is my basic pattern but I change the inclines around at different workouts to keep things from being to routine... sometimes I put in running intervals... sometimes I do crazy sideways sashays. And ALWAYS I really use my arms. I keep my arms bent about 90 degrees and engaged and pump them, I do boxing punches, I do chest flys. After the cardio I do ab work and pushups every other day... no big deal... just a couple of sets each. That's it! If I have enough good TV loaded up on my TIVO making 60 minutes is not a problem.

wow!! Sounds crazy but its easy to understated. Thank you for sharing!! I am trying to loose 30 pounds and I am trying hard. I can only fit in 4 days a week though. I have to go to a gym so its harder..

I know you've said this before but...how tall are you? What is your weight loss goal-what would you like to weigh?

Jenny,
I'm pretty short. I'm just under 5'3. Right now I weigh just under 123 and my goal weight with this challenge (10 weeks 10 pounds) is to get to 116.8. (126.8 my starting weight). My ultimate goal is 112. When I lost weight last time I ended at 109 and about 17% body fat. I care more about the body fat % than the actual weight. I was able to maintain 109 but I don't need to be that thin.. after awhile I went up a few and 112 is where I had settled and been able to easily maintain for a couple of years. I'd really like to get my body fat % down to 19%... I, obviously, gained only fat this past year so I have a ways to go on that. I think 112 will ultimately line up with 19% and I'll be extremely happy with that. I'm assuming it will take me about 2 more months after I reach 116 to get to 112 and 19%. We'll see. This time around I won't take it for granted. It's been much harder to get re-motivated and I don't want to go through this again.

I know exactly how you feel. I don't have a scale to measure body fat (not do I want to take measurements because I'm too lazy ;) but I am 5'4 (and a 1/2? Can I count that in? haha) and I got up to 126 pounds. It's taken me FOREVER to get where I am today. Holding steady at 120 or a little under. I told myself I will NEVER do that again. I hate being hungry and being on a diet was not a happy time in my life! I weigh myself every day just to make sure I'm not messing up-because I know weight can creep up on you if you don't keep an eye on it. I'd rather know that day if I can eat a little more or take it easy on the treats.

Jenny,
I agree. When I'm losing I try to stick to weighing 1 or 2 times a week... so I don't get discouraged by slight fluctuations. But when I'm maintaining I also weigh everyday. And I have to say, I didn't really start gaining weight until last Spring when I packed up my scale for the move and lost touch with reality. I gained 10 pounds between last April and December... and I don't think that is a coincidence.
