Hey girl, Sounds like y'all had fun! I love having lunch with friends without the kids.
I love your hair! You have such nice curl. I just have enough to be annoying. Not enough to make it look nice, but enough to give me trouble getting it straight. The pic after you used Heather's product and did the pin curl looks fabulous.
BTW, Kent is obsessed with the video of Baby and Kid dancing. If he sees me on your blog, or sometimes just randomly, he will say, "want to see the baby, baby dance." and will pitch a fit until I let him. So of course I let him because it's easier than listening to the screaming. I think he likes Baby's tushie. :) So if you are wondering who the hell is watching that video four times a day, it is us.
Robin, lol about Kent and his crush on Baby's tush! I don't blame him she's got the moves ;)
I hear you on the hair... when your hair is not totally curly or straight it is a pain either which way! Have you tried a diffuser (I usually don't go that route but it does make it much curlier)?
Julie, Goddamn it.... those waffles are the BEST!!!! I'm so glad you like them.
Love the hair with the diffuser/pin curl style! How funny,I'm glad you had such a great time. One of these days in my crazy life I will get to meet you too. I am a litttle scared though cuz you are so freakin tiny I will look like an absolute giant moose in comparison ;) I am also a fan of the Van's waffles, super yummy. I am also blessed with the wavy but not actually curly hair,I usually straighten it because otherwise it does weird twangy things around my face, but every once in a while I curl it and it looks alright. OK,nighty night, I got roped into being on call 8p-8a since someone called in so I better try to sleep in case the pager goes off later.
So glad that you were able to go out and have fun, your hair really is cute...
Vans Maple Fusion Waffles, is that what they are called? Where do you get them? I heard you talk about them in the video blog but didn't understand it, because I can't hear, not because of you...I have to eat a big breakfast because I am starving in the morning, but by dinner...I could care less! So I need food that is good for me but fills me up. Looking for ideas...
Kiki, Van's Hearty Oat Maple Fusion. I can get these at Whole Food's and at our *regular* grocery store. Freezer section. Now I find they are best if you toast them twice on a low setting (just FYI). They're totally delish you don't need syrup... I do put a little butter on them. There a little over 200 calories for two and SERIOUSLY as filling as a bowl of oatmeal. I am someone who NEEDS to eat asap in the morning and these really do fill me up plus I can eat them on the run if need be.
Heather, Dude you've got great hair... there is no denying it!
Heather... I just wrote my *Dude* comment when you wrote yours... psychic connection.
Yep believe it. They were fine. Baby was very excited to see me though! I did have to say to Mr F as soon as I came home "I was gone almost as long as you are everyday... how'd you like it?!"
Ok I posted more! You did a way, way better recapping. It's as if I wrote it myself. I concur all around. The most hilarious part was Justin's obvious affection for you, and you reeling him in like a fish. God it was hilarious!
So I'm starting the Mrs. F-inspired/advised Heather Gets Small plan on Tuesday. I get home at midnight Monday, then am having a friend over for dinner Tuesday. Someone kill me now. But I'll get the cardio in, come hell or highwater.
Update update update! OF COURSE Pete mixed the schedule up, and the press conference announcing the winners isn't until tomorrow, so I'm headed home earlier today, and will arrive at a reasonable hour so I'm not insane tomorrow. Although I predict I will still be insane anyway, cause I'm me.
I'm on it, of course in Myrtle Beach we are totally lacking in any kind of food store like Whole Foods...so I get like Kroger or Lowes, I am going to be a freak about finding these. I love anything that gets good reviews...thanks for the advice!!
Hi - just for clarification, this is the first time you've left the Kid for as long as a day? Not just baby? Wow. I adore my boy but I have to admit I spend a lot of time figuring out how to get time away from him. (Kind of like how I like my job but spend most of my time at work coming up with reasons not to do it . . .)
I am getting ready to leave my boy for a week. He's now 21 months. I am very nervous about it, but secretly, (not such a secret now - Hello Furious America!) I'm also bloody freaking excited. My trip is for a training session for work, and even though I'll be working 12-15 hour days, I'm looking forward to coming back to a completely empty (and tidy!) hotel room every night.
I've left him before, when he was 17 mos, for a weekend away at a bachelorette party. I didn't really miss him. I mean I was super excited to see him when I got home, but I was happy to be away.
I'm envious of your ability to be around your kids all the time and stay basically happy. :)
Liz, "I'm envious of your ability to be around your kids all the time and stay basically happy" I'm also basically insane! ;)
Yeah for real. The longest I've ever been away from Kid outside of the two days at the hospital after having Baby (and of course I was with Baby) was 5 hours and even that maybe only like 5 times in 5 years. For Real. Now that never really bothered me because I shaped her in my image and she is exactly like me and up until she turned 4 and went through a little hideous period was pretty much the best behaved most easy going child born. I mean I took her to pilates twice a week and she just happily played for an hour while I worked out... crazy good. So yes Saturday I was gone for nearly 6 hours at one stretch... longest ever. I should note that before I had kids I worked as a therapist... 80% of my clients were kids... so you see even pre-kids I was with kids all day. That was actually harder because I had to be mental *present* all the time and totally focused on them. And don't get me wrong Kid can drive me up a wall at times! But Mr F and I are both the same way so at least that's not an issue...

And dude, I can't believe it's the longest you've ever left the kids! Glad they and Mr F survived!
Emmy,
