I'm Back

Okay I'm back. I spent a fair amount but as usual I will probably be back later in the week returning a good 2/3rds of it... so no worries on that front.

I did score some new fashions...
fitted green tee & printed hoodie
40s styled dress that I am absolutely loving.

I also found two shirts that I really liked but of course they didn't have in my size so I'll be stalking them for the next few weeks. And I got a peasant style sleeveless linen black dress that I do like... but I bought in a Medium. Sometimes I still have a hard time believing that I should buy a smaller size!

I got some new curtain rods and a duvet set for the guest room so that I can slowly start to transition that room into Kid's room and maybe start to feel that it is a little more "finished". I'm sticking with the "Shabby Chic" line for that room... which I personally like and is both girly and can be dressed down for a kid's room and is sophisticated enough to look nice for company.

I spent a fair amount of time in the make-up department replacing all the old cosmetics I threw out during the closet clean out last weekend. I literally hadn't bought any in at least seven years and I still had some Trish McEvoy stuff that I got when I was in college. So this was certainly a long time coming.

And last but not least I got Baby a pair of rain boots to match Kid's!

Oh you know I made a video...

There is something about a Target-run that makes a girl giddy. Love the Target!

Excellent purchases, if I say so myself.

What is going through Mr. F's mind in the picture of you in the dress?

Crack. Me. up.

LOL Clarie!
He doesn't look too impressed with the fashion show now does he? I will say with Kid behind the camera the process did take about an hour and a half and was getting a little old for all of us ;)

and that should be C-L-A-I-R-E

I do love Mr. F's enthusiasm! You look great. And I love that dress!

I like the shirt I bought at target last week SO MUCH I'm going to buy one more in this color and at least one in another color. It was only 9 dollars to boot.

I like that dress a lot.

Mr. F looks non-plussed by it though.

Love it when you have a good Target run! Especially when you find all of the good deals! Love the fashion show and am impressed by kid's talents as a photographer.

Lord I love Target. I try to avoid it though becuase I seriously go in to buy toothpaste and spend $150 or more. I walk out with no recollection of what just happened. It is seriously a drug. I wonder if they have a special rehab program.

nutmeg,
did you get this same shirt... Merona with like lighter stitching up the sides? I'm loving it and already plan to go get all the colors. Fits great.

Ashley,
THANKS! :)

Kenady,
she can get the shot.... but I she ended up taking literally 80 pics so I had to take some time deleting them all!

P.O.M.
Oh it is like a drug.... and I'm never gonna give it up!

I love that dress!!

Cute stuff! I'm so glad you got new makeup. The eye shadows look really pretty.

My three year old points out Targets wherever we go and about every other day says, "wanna go to Target." Maybe I have a problem, too. (FYI, we don't actually buy anything for him when we go to Target...it's all about the free cookie.)

Those rainboots are so freakin adorable! I have looked at them so many times... You had a great Target day, I hope you keep it all this time ;) The shabby chic is so great! If we ever get a new house I am doing Ella's room that way...if I can escape her need for Hello Kitty EVERYTHING.

Mrs Furious said...

Heather,
Thanks. They have CUTE maternity at Target FYI.

Robin,
Free Cookie?!?!

Emmy,
LOL. I was showing pics of bedding online before I went and tried to skip all the Dora & Hello Kitty ones! ;)

Target clothes are like crack to me. What is it about that place???

I was heartened to hear that you also sometimes forget/don't believe you should be buying a smaller size -- I still do that. Wonder when the weight loss denial finally fades...

Hi Mrs. F - I've been reading for a while but never posted...until I saw that you got the exact same Target dress that I bought recently! I was completely thrilled when I found it. So, I decided that it was fate, and I should finally make my presence known :) Thanks so much for your blog; it's a regular read for me and is always great motivation and good for a laugh.

Mrs. F-
Free Cookie?!?!

Our Target is a Super Target (they sell groceries, have a deli, bakery, etc.) At the bakery, they have a little display of free cookies for the kiddos. It's brilliant marketing. I will go shopping there before other places because the kids want to go.

Robin,
Sweet Jesus! If we had that I would never leave!

Haley,
I do it all the time. If I just hold stuff up and don't try it on I'll usually buy a Medium.

Jen,
Hey thanks for commenting :)
I love that dress... it is surprisingly light and comfortable while still looking decent. An unusual look for me ;)

I love Target's shabby chic line. It's all so pretty. It's a shame my girls don't agree with me :)

And I love Super Target. I wish I had one close to my house, but the two closest Targets (both about 20 miles away in opposite directions) are both regular.

Alas, we don't have a Target within an hour and a half drive (but that doesn't mean we don't go a couple of times a year during summer.) We do shop at Target.com, but I think the tactile quality is lost so I don't end up buying many clothes there. That said, I love Sonia Kashuk's line, and if you're in the market for a great set of inexpensive makeup brushes, get hers. I do love the hoodie and the dress; they look great. The last time I "ran in" for something was when we were on our way home from Buffalo, and daughter 3 (baby) pooped up her back which required many wipes and a new outfit (because I also didn't plan well enough). I ended up with a cart full of towels, because they were on sale for 5.99 each and about $100 in other "essentials".

It's probably a really good thing that there isn't one nearby. Oh, I waxed poetic about your sweet potato/beef stew and linked 2 of your recipes in my blog (it redirects them here.)

Mrs Furious said...

Michelline,
yes thankfully Kid is still a little too young to have too strong of an opinion. I didn't let her see too many choices for that reason though ;)

Daniela,
Oh thanks for the links. I'm glad you guys like it :)

and I agree Target is all about the actual experience... I've never gotten into order online.

Oh yeah... brushes.... I still have my Trish McEvoy brushes (she's known for the brushes) and I'm just going to get some brush cleaner.

Oooh, I LOVE Target too. It's very therapeutic for me. Whenever I'm stressed, a quiet, kidless stroll through Target can really do wonders for my mental health. I don't even need to buy anything (yeah, right), I just like to stroll. Seriously, it's just my "happy place"!
Oh, I LOVE that dress! It looks super cute on you!

Mrs Furious said...

Danielle,
Shopping at Target is my favorite "me time" thing to do... hopefully that is not to pathetic ;)
thanks on the dress... now I just have to wait for it to actually be warm enough outside to wear it!

HC said...

Dude, how happy am I that you do the whole "buy and return" shtick, too? I am KNOWN for returning 90% of what I buy, and I get made fun of for it, believe you me.

But the thing is, you get that fabulous dopamine rush from shopping (seriously, it's scientastic) and then you get (or rather I get) that wonderful self-righteous "I am a pure soul who needs not these silly things" feeling when you take em all back.

God, I hope I'm not getting on any blacklists at any my favorite stores...

Mrs Furious said...

Haley,
" that wonderful self-righteous "I am a pure soul who needs not these silly things" feeling when you take em all back."
Fear not I too get off on that!

blacklisting?! Yes... I have worried about that myself.. like one day Customer Service is going to put their foot down and I'll be screwed with a couple hundred dollars worth of returns on my hands!

My rule of thumb is this: If I haven't put the item in use within two weeks of purchase I never will and I return it. I have a bag full of Gap returns that I never incorporated into my wardrobe... I don't know what it is... but even when I like stuff I still won't wear it. I figure if I don't take it out of the bag in 2 weeks I don't really want it/need it/love it enough to keep.

Kiki said...

Ack!!! Gap stuff to return???Perish the thought!!! I'm kidding, I return stuff to my own store for goodness sakes...I do the same thing, if I don't wear it...back it goes!!!

I love what you got at Target, but my favorite bit might be those pink shoes that are so stinking cute!!! That shirtdress...also awesome....see you have great taste, I knew it all along!!!

Mrs Furious said...

Kiki,
I'm going to return my stuff and get that skirt you have. I need the little sash reinforcement!

Kiki said...

It comes in navy and white, I got the navy, I am planning on wearing it lots...I am excited that you are getting it...I love it!!!

Mrs Furious said...

Kiki,
Oh I'm excited about it. I'm a big skirt person and I had to get rid of all my old ones (too big!) and so I'm starting from scratch.

Amy said...

your videos in the car kill me.

"...starting to notice...alright bye"

BTW, gonna look for that dress although i won't look like you in it ESPECIALLY SINCE I'M SO FRUSTRATED I'M NOT LOSING WEIGHT - WHAT IS UP WITH ME? sorry, got a little excited there.

Deb said...

I'm happy just reading that! I'm on a no-shopping binge right now, because we're expecting a very ugly tax bill, so I'm living vicariously through you. Love the dress.

Mrs Furious said...

Amy,
what do you mean you aren't losing? Like how long are we talking about? I often would seem plateaued for a few weeks then drop 4-5 lbs. So if that is all just hang in there. Do you need some different incline workouts? I'll post those tomorrow.

Deb,
" because we're expecting a very ugly tax bill"
shhh... we don't talk about that. We just wait and have a heart attack, fight, threaten divorce, pay it, say we are going to do a better job of making quarterly payments and then repeat the cycle. Having your own business sucks the life out of you.

I really love that dress - your legs look especially nice in it. I am so jealous about Target. Canada does NOT have Target. Maybe I need to arrange a Buffalo shopping trip... it's just that... ugh... Buffalo!

Mrs Furious said...

eurydice,
You have to make a run for the border!
I think that dress was only $24 (US obviously).
