This Week The Plan

Well folks today is the day. I put on my jeans and they were.. um... a bit tight. Maybe indecently so. It turns out being depressed and sticking to an exercise and diet regime don't necessarily go hand in hand. And yet I know that if I can pull it together and take control of this area it will spill over into the rest of my life. So I'm doing it. No more half assed attempts. I'm going back to my original plan.
So get ready for the return of cookie dough, maple fusion waffles (even though they've changed them and they suck now), 200 & 300 calorie mini meals, and NO freaking soda. Oh yeah and 6 hours of cardio a week.

Okay these are the things I know I need to do in order to be successful:
I need to make a meal plan at the start of the week. I need to limit take out to restaurants where I can predetermine the calorie counts. I need to have my magical treats (frozen cookie dough & dark choc caramels & Kashi Go Lean Roll bars) on hand. I need to weigh my food... boring but necessary. I need to track my food... starting in the morning... and not try and figure it out at the end of the day. I need to have sparkling water on hand ALL the time so that I can resist my soda urges... because... I must not drink soda. I need to get in 5 days of cardio and I need to start my week on Sunday... don't ask me why it's just true. I need to load my Tivo up with plenty of shows to workout to. I need to STOP Tivo'ing my shows on the living room TV so that I have to workout to watch them. I need to get enough sleep... so I'm back on the Unisom!

Day FREAKING One:

Now you might be thinking "Mrs F you don't look that bad"... well enlarge the pictures... notice how my stomach is factually hanging over my belt?... how about how I can't tuck my pockets all the way in?... or the tight rippling at the back of the thighs? And PS this is after I'd been wearing them (aka stretching them out) for an hour.

OKAY the plans...

MENU:
Until Kid's darn tooth falls out we'll be focusing on soft foods... oy... this one has been an ordeal!!

Monday - we went out to crazy country restaurant... but I didn't have soda

Tuesday - Steak w/ sauteed peppers, onions & mushrooms, pan seared potatoes

Wednesday - Tomato soup, crescent rolls, salad

Thursday - Brown Sugar & Ginger Salmon, rice, asian stir fry

Friday - Pork Tenderloin, sauteed apples, smashed potatoes

Saturday - Frozen pizza, salad

Sunday - Turkey Noodle Casserole

Mrs. F., I am with you. I too have been a little bit depressed, and feeding the depression is only making it worse. I refuse to buy new clothes, so it's time to get back on track.

Can I join your food diary group? I find it useful to keep a food journal and had been using sparkpeople, but the calorie/carb/protein/fat counting makes me a little too obsessive I think.

are you going to make me give up my double mint oreo's?

Have fun at the park.

Jen,
sure! Just send me your email (the one you use for blogger) and I'll get you hooked up.
We're not crazy over there ;)

Shirls,
I'm doing it!

Supermom,
well you don't have to... but I do.

Oh I need to hop on this train too! I have started the terrible habit of a soda a day (I am officially hooked on the caffiene) and G and I are addicted to oreos. Oddly enough I have lost weight this month and I can't figure out why. All I can think is that maybe it is all the extra milk intake, you know to go with the oreos ;)? It is like the breastfeeding weight falling off thing is happening 7 months later? Any ideas? Regardless I need to get moving too, food diaries help me a lot too.

you know i love progression shots. i love watching the muffin top disappear. please, it really is NOT that bad. but i commend you for taking the challenge on badass-style. i read a book on this topic that i think you'll be interested in. i'm posting about it tonight.

Yeeeeeeehaaaa! She's back!

I shall join you, come Friday. Although I can't bear to take before shots -- really. I can't believe how much having a baby has trashed my body. I suppose I should be in awe and have a newfound respect for my body, but seeing as it hasn't been cooperative at all along the way, I think not.

Anyway, back to you -- the pants are slightly indecent. :) If you were a hoochie mama, you could wear them out clubbin.

Good luck this week -- we know you can do it!

sounds like a plan, love the pics its so motivating to see your past pictures and you now even if its not where you want to be youve come a long way....

I could only wish I look as good in my jeans as you do in yours...I spent a bunch of money on new GAP jeans last winter and now refuse to wear any of them because of the muffin top you mentioned...they all do that to me-ugh! Used to love jeans and now I hate them-what next-am I going to be a 36 year old walking around in elastic pants?!?!

I'm afraid I might have been a bad influence with onion rings and hummus at Westville.....

I find that for me its the soda...if I don't drink it, I can drop like 5 pounds easily in a week-but its also a real sacrifice because I LOVE the stuff...is iced tea better? I'm a terrible water drinker and fear that I'm rubbing off on the kids...I should try sparkling water-any favorite brand?

you go BAD ASS! :) and you are that because you couldn't pay me enough to post pics of my ass in jeans much less my stomach!!!!:) Personally, I think you look fantastic and have nothing to worry about....

Now it's my turn to be jealous, you can (and will) get smaller! I, on the other hand, won't. ;) (at least for another year or so...)

random p.s. if Kid's tooth is REALLY close, have you tried baby Orajel? It of course won't deaden the nerve on the inside but it did help Luke feel more comfortable with me pulling it. As in not screaming and writhing. Just wimpering.

Torey said...

Go you Mrs. F! I have faith that you can do it. I need to make a meal plan too. More for the budget than the belly (hey I'm pregnant!) but I'm going to go back to using a bunch of your recipes, cause they're oh so yummy!!!

Get down with your BadAss self!

Robin said...

Awwww, yeah! I need to do this with you. I've been a little depressed as well...and feeding it. Meanwhile, 5 pounds (all fat)later.

eurydice said...

Mini meals are the only way to go - otherwise you just feel so hungry.

You can do it Mrs. F!!! :)

I'm doing it too. But this time not just for me. My good friend needs to lose weight so I'm helping her with food planning. I've taken some of your recipes and ideas to give her. Not I just need to get her on the cardio kick. She actually signed up for a race with me, so that should help.

Any other fun new healthy recipes you can share... bring it on :) I"m making the soup again tonight. It's my fav and there's always leftovers for lunch the next day.

Hey all I've been crazy today trying to buy my essentials, make my meal plan, dinner, and get the workout in... all while trying to rid Canine of FLEAS!

I'll be back once the kids are in bed.

Katieo,
Orajel... genius! Thank you!!
The top one's are much harder to get out than the bottom... she pulled those herself. This last little bugger is hanging by a VERY strong thread.

I'm so proud of you! I to have been depressed a bit lately and realized that most of it is due in part to the fact that I don't feel nearly as pretty and healthy as I did a year ago! My week started yesterday morning and i've been on 6 mini meals, gallon of water, 8 hours of sleep, and 1 hour cardio ever since! It's amazing that I already feel better and it's only been 36 hours! YOU CAN DO THIS!!

hi! here's the info verbatim from my email box to your comment box:

Kev's got CVS -cyclic vomiting syndrome. I've got some links to websites that are really good- I'll send them from work tomorrow. We started seeing a pediatric gastroenterologist for Kev's condition. He's the one that prescribed the anti-nausea meds (same stuff they give pregnant women). CVS is also referred to as Abdominal Migraine in case your friend wants to google it.

Always,
E!

Mrs Furious said...

Hey E,
Awesome. That is actually potentially one of the alternate diagnoses that the neurologist was talking about for her epilepsy... I guess they can go together. I have a feeling that may very well be what it is. My grandmother just told me she has abdominal migraines... so we've got a family history too.

Julie said...

Yeah, I got to get me fat ass back in gear, too.

Katie, your preggers?! Congratulations!!!

Mrs Furious said...

P.O.M.,
Funnily enough I'm also trying to motivate my best friend... I need to do this... but sometimes an outside motivator helps!

I'm hoping to start developing a bunch of new recipes. I need to have more things to draw from for us too!

I am jumping on the bandwagon Monday. I have food in this house we need to eat up. Sitting down this weekend and meal planning and time planning so I can drop the 92lbs I am hoping for.

Mrs Furious said...

Michelle S,
I was meaning to tell you that you looked thinner when I saw you the other day. The weight melting off never happened with me while b'fing.... unfortunately.

bi0nicw0man,
Ah thanks... it has been a long time coming. But I think it was a good lesson for me to learn. Maintenance does not equal going back to your old ways.

MP,
I will hop over and check it out.

Heather,
I will email you my infinite words of wisdom on the subject ;)

Andrea,
Oh thanks.

Renee,
I happen to like mineral water... not everyone does... but for me any brand will do. I'm a big fan of the Target (Archer Farms) citrus flavor.
Soda is a major weight contributer for me... I just love it so and every time I learn the same damn lesson... it really makes me put fat on the gut!

Lori,
Hop on! I'll see you over at the Food Diary site.

Haley,
Aw Yeah... You know it!

Hey Torey!! It's been a while! :)

Lori,

Robin,
5 pounds (all fat)... you and me both! I think, fairly conservatively, we can kick this shit out in 5 weeks.

Eurydice,
mini meals makes all the difference... plus eating a smaller dinner means I can have a bigger late night snack (which is imperative) ;)

Ashley,
I couldn't agree more... the not looking or feeling as good as I did last year has definitely been bringing me down. And once your let yourself get back in the place where you allow yourself to get back on board (which is really how I see it for myself) it is amazing how much more in control I feel.

Julie,
Come back... nows the time!

Me, Myself, & I,
Oh best of luck! Meal planning really did change my life... I think it is key.
