I've seen this video and have different feelings. For me, my job as a mom is about my relationships with my kids... just like my marriage is about my relationship with my husband. Quantifying it with a ridiculous list of requirements and tasks (most of which were unreasonable) makes me cringe-y. I work full time (leave the house at 5:30am and pick the kids up at 4:30pm) and still have to do what all other mothers do (pay bills, laundry, meal plan, grocery shop, cook, bring them to appointments..) but that's just life.. we just do it. I could list just as many things, if not more, then what I do at my day job. I don't think of it as a job/work. Anyways, sorry for rambling... just my thoughts.

I don't think it was intended as a literal statement about the true role of motherhood. It's a clever ad campaign for a card company. As far as ads go, I think it works and serves its purpose of having people reflect on all the little things their mothers have done/are doing through an exaggerated tongue-in-cheek humorous approach. That's all. The "You can have lunch, but only when the associate is done." Had me laughing hysterically.

Maybe it's because I think card companies are all cringe worthy too :) Too much of that stuff going around these days!

That's funny.

I liked the "make your mom a card" line.
