Have to laugh at this one. My desk is such a mess right now, too:
a dirty coffee mug
an old coffee cup from Starbucks (paper)
2 stacks of ungraded papers
5 mini stacks of library books for various writing projects
socks (?)
paper towel (dirty)
opened bottle of sparkling water (flat now)
camera, phone, tons of newspaper articles, ipod, lap top. extra extensions cords (in a tangled mess) for computer.

Hey, we creative geniuses types tend to be messy, right?

haha! Amen Soap Box Girl!

My favorite part of those pictures is Kid's drawing of "daddy." It looks just like pictures of our daddy!

i'm impressed that you all have your own desks! i don't even have a desk at home. and when i think of my parent's house... my mom, brother and sister don't have desks. and my dad doesn't even use his. we are more of a dining room table is everyone's desk family.

yes... Mr F has a business that he runs from home so he has always had his. Mine was pretty much decorative until I got my own computer last xmas. You can see there are no drawers (well little ones) so there is nowhere for me to actually put my mail and other crap I pile on it.
Kid got her's from my Dad when the baby was born.. it is purely for storage... since she doesn't even have a chair!
I actually do all my bill paying and whatnot at the dining room table.. and then have a cubby with a door I can shove everything into when people come over! ;)

I grew up in a family where the DR table was everybody's dumping ground. That might be the case in the Furious household except we need to eat at it. (No eat-in kitchen).

The only one of us wih an excuse is Kid. She has to shove stuff in there and roll the top down to protect it from Baby's drooly embrace...

Does someone's family need a visit from Mission: Organization?

My husband would die if any of our desks looked liek that. If mine gets cluttery, he cleans it up for me!

Hi Tuesdays Girl,
If mine gets cluttery, he cleans it up for me!
unfortunately Mr F does NOT share that compulsion!

Every time we move, I vow "this office will be different". It never is. At one house, I actually had two offices. One "real" office, where everything piled up, and one office just for company that was pretty. (No, the company didn't USE it... I pretended I did.)

Of course if we move we are telling ourselves the same thing... don't dash our hopes!
