Thanks To Heather...

Not that I"m obsessing on my new haircut or anything....
But this is my hair today after using a little styling product Heather brought me. And drying it with a diffuser...and... pin curling the left side (your left that is). Oh and trimming that long left piece a bit (again YOUR left)

Cute!!!

I liked it yesterday too, but the curls are fun. Please tell me what product you used! I think it would be fun to try - I usually blow my hair out straight b/c it has just enough wave to it that if it air dries it's just sort of fluffy and weird, but straight on the ends.

Post partum hair loss is so bizarre. I lost hair all around my temples - it was really strange and unfortunate. Thankfully it did eventually grow back ok.

Hi Emily,
sounds like your hair might be a lot like mine.
This product is actually a straightening balm but I figured I'd try it to see if it would work to de-puff and it did.
JOICO, K-PAK STYLE, smoothing balm $20
So it would be good for straightening. Although honestly I used to use a cheap product in the African American hair care section of CVS for straightening that came in a red bottle (I'll get back to you on that) that was the best product ever and really it wasn't too heavy!!!
So yesterday I used my usual Frizz Ease Clearly Defined style holding gel and you can see that this actually defined them more (although yesterday was air dry and today I did diffuse it)

Mrs F. You're looking good! I like the new hair.

Glad that you got on well with Heather. Sounded fun - can't remember that last time I met up with friends without kids in tow - sigh!

Kid Art,

yeah - I lost mine at the temples. I looked like my dad with his receding hairline. Embarrassing :(

CUTE! Seriously, I love it! Tell me about this pin curling trick. Is that how you get it to stay so nicely out of your face?

This is great hair. I wish mine looked like that. Of course, I would probably have to do something crazy like put product in it and dry it. I don't know how you find the time!

You always make me laugh!

You, too, of course, Mrs F!

I love the curls! about 2 years ago I stopped fighting my curls and decided to embrace, best hair decision I've made...

moley,
thanks! I'm liking it MUCH better today.

I lost my hair fairly evenly, thank God, it never occurred to me you could lose it just from the temples!!! I definitely looked like I was going bald though since you could see scalp through my hair if I pulled it back.... NOT good!

Danielle,
no trick to getting out of my face my hair naturally does that if I part it on this side (kind of a cowlick type thing happenin')
pin curl: I wound the hair up in a tight little circle (while wet) and then clipped it to hold it with one of Kid's barrettes... once it was dry I took it out and it held the curl.

MommyTime,
I took it about 1/2 way dry with the diffuser (maybe 2-3 mins). I think of your hair as being pretty curly though.

Shirls,
Your hair looks GREAT curly ... I can't imagine it any other way. You've got good defined curls.

Your hair looks freakin' awesome like that! I love the waves. It's all in the products. That's how I justify the amount of sweet moola I drop on that shit. ha ha.

P.S. Now I'm even more jealous of your meet-up with Heather.

I really, really like this. This is great. GREAT. Looks great! You don't have bad hair, you just need the right product to give it some oomph! And it looks *amazing* in these pictures, I swear.

I used the straightening balm just to calm the Ronald McDonald that is my hair on occasion. It was especially handy in humid climates.

Mrs. F, that is some great hair!WOW!! It looks so cute. Plus I think it is so neat that you got to meet one of your blogger friends IRL!! Now you just have to remember to take the pin curl out before you go out into the world. I would forget.

Hey THANKS everyone!! :)

Hopefully I can repeat the look tomorrow!

You should be jealous Deb... Heather gives out prizes! I even got the BEST hair bands EVER!... how have I never seen those before? Awesome.

Thanks again Heather!

Hey Mrs. F,

Love the hair!

Update on the potato-leek soup -- it was a BIG hit. And so easy! Didn't end up tackling the soft pretzels because I got home way to late to think about kneading anything or allowing things to rise. We just ate it with a salad and some crusty bread -- verrrrry satisfying. Of course, now I have an awful lot of leeks lying around...any thoughts on how to use those puppies up?

I'm reading alot about folks just using store-bought frozen bread dough to make pretzels...until I get a stand mixer this may be 1000times easier...and maybe a lower stress kid activity for you...

Cara,
thanks!

Haley,
Yay!! I'm glad you liked it!
Leeks?
How about saute them all up in butter and then put them on top of pizza dough like a rustic onion tart/focaccia? That would be easy, flavorful, and not breaking the bank calorie wise. Dude, serve that up with some tomato soup. That would be GOOD.

You're welcome! Between you and KatieO's prizes, I think I have convinced the blogging community that I am Santa Claus. Sweet!

HC said...

Oooooo...good call on the pizza dough! I even have some goat cheese kicking around that will top off my leek tart nicely...man, I'm getting hungry....

Mrs Furious said...

Haley,
Yum. That is gonna be good. Maybe I'll make that to go along with my soup this weekend....
