People!

I'm back. It was a great trip and much needed.
We relaxed.
We got tan.
We collected sea shells.
We saw boats and sunsets and seals.
We clearly gained some weight.
We.... we....we sold our house!

Okay, okay, we may have sold our house. Things are getting hammered out today.

The good news? If this goes through then we are done. Done keeping it clean. Done showing it. Done trying not to "live in" our own freaking house too much.

The bad news? We got pressured into low balling our selling price and while I guess it worked... we can't shake the gnawing feeling that we could have gotten more (a much needed more I might add).

Oh the other bad news? That gives me 4 weeks to get all packed and moved... and I haven't even been to Asheville yet!

My sis (who works at Real Estate One) said they sold a house that had been on the market 9 hours. . .I actually prayed it was yours, so maybe it was!!!

Glad you're back. . .and I soooooo don't want you guys to go!

WOW! We had a showing friday and it may turn into something they are debating between ours and another one so I am hoping. So glad you had a great time away and very jealous I might add. I really hope it all goes through because man do I feel your pain about the trying not to live in the house too much and keeping it perfect 24/7, hard to do with 4 kids I might add...You are a brave woman moving to a place you haven't even visited! Gotta run to violin lessons, but glad you are back and glad to be reading the blog again ;)

MRS F! I seriously missed your blogging.. Glad you had a wonderful vacation and got to relax. Congrats on selling your house, sorry to hear you may not get what you wanted but maybe its better sold than sitting.. Have a great day.

Congratulations!! I know how that feels to think you might have gotten more. Try not to second guess the pricing. It's a tough market right now, and you sold it. If it had taken months to sell, you would have had to eat the mortgage and expenses attached to the house, not to mention the work and stress (mmm... lemon bars). There's nothing worse than living someplace else (or having your spouse live someplace else) while you try to sell a house in another city. I've been there, and the stress is a killer. Plus, you've got a lot ahead of you right now, and some of it is going to be really FUN!!

Welcome back.

Welcome back!!

Congratulations on the house thing...I totally concur with Deb. It is a really tough market right now. Also, the stress of knowing you have to sell the house and keep it clean constantly with kids is really killer. I have been there and it nearly killed me. In fact, I went straight to therapy after we moved to the new place!!

Can't wait to hear about your trip!!

The good news is that the housing market in North Carolina is really inexpensive compared to the rest of the country! The cost of living is a lot less too!

I can't even tell you the leap my little heart made seeing that you had a new post. Thank GOD you're back. I missed you. So glad it was relaxing and a great time to get away. I love unplugging from the world -- no phones or computers or anything. Fun!

And congrats on selling the house!!! Quite a feat in this market!

Yea! You are back! Congrats on the house, and stop second-guessing yourself...it's a tough market right now. Plus, you do not need the stress of keeping it uber-clean.

Welcome back. I totally missed your blogs and was looking forward to Tuesday.

Glad that you sold your house so fast. It is better to have sold the house than to have it in your hands while you are in another town.

That is great way to start the week!!

Welcome back

Wow, that was speedy! The selling the house part, not the you being gone part -- that felt like an ice age. Glad you're back. :)

wowzerrs - fast stuff. don't focus on the lower price. focus that you sold, would you rather have 2 mortgages ??? it is a good thing. how exciting to hear about your move and all.

Woohoo!! That's totally awesome news! I'm glad you had a good vacation.

I seriously had this feeling that you would sell your house while you were on vacation,...I'm happy for you! and happy you are back.

Just think of all the cleaning fees you will save with the faster sell, and the relief of not having to keep your house immaculate just in case someone stops by...that is worth a couple thousand alone.

OOOH, now you get to House Hunt! I am so jealous! I love picking out houses.

Okay the buyer's financing came through and we signed and now we will wait the inspection and what not. Guess what? It's a 90 year old house... there will be stuff wrong with it and we are NOT bringing the price down for that shit.

If this goes through we'll be out (close your eyes Angie) 7/14.

I just found a house that I could potentially LOVE in Asheville (of course it is 70K more than what we're getting for ours... but whatever.... I have my needs)

Shelley,
I always enjoy a little psychic connection ;)

Okay off to go pick up Canine from the boarder... and, yes, I've thought of leaving him there ;)
