As an East Coast ocean kid, I had no idea what to expect the first time I went up to the cottage. It kicks the hell out of the Connecticut shore, and rivals the Cape. Less surf than the ocean, but no salt.

Mr Furious said...: No, Empire (where the cottage is) is in Leelenau County, just south of Sleeping Bear Dunes. If you are looking at Michigan as a hand (you know, mitten-shaped and all) the cottage is almost at the top of your pinky.
