Mrs. F,
I may or not be a freak, but i check back here periodically throughout the day thinking "Hmm.. wonder whats up with the Furious family and how things are going" so just so you know, been loving the video posts. Hope everything starts falling... perfectly into place for you, and your family.

Well of course I don't think that's freaky... of course I am making videos of myself multiple times a day ;)

Yeah, I have to say, I used to be good about not playing your videos while working in my quiet library (it's pretty damned bad when the librarian gets shushed), but now I throw caution to the wind because I'm so curious about what's going on!

1. Your hair looks super cute, unlike mine, which in a fit of dispair I cut MY OWN BANGS!!! This is not something I should be doing as I can barely draw a straight line. I may or may not be watching too much of that Bravo show Shear Genius.

2. I am reading Big Rock Candy Mountain...it is some serious character development....I like it though.

3. The house is definitely coming together, it looks great, the colors are gorgeous and the layout is smooth...love it!!

4. Skin So Soft by Avon for mosquito control??? Here in MB they spray the streets at night, do they do that there??? It really helps...

Thinking of you guys and even when I don't leave a comment I've checked in...

Weird - I see you in the background moving, but there is no sound, and the video is almost black with an overlay that says "we're sorry this video is no longer available." Repost maybe?

Here;s a bargain tip: Most Aveda Salons have bargain days (mine is Tuesday) where they let students (people who have already graduated from Cosmetology but want additional Aveda certification) cut and/or color your hair (under the close supervision of an instructor) for like $25 and that price includes a neck/shoulder/hand massage plus (obviously) cut and style. There are 4 Aveda salons in Asheville!

Be brave--- it's just hair...right?

Laura,
try it again... it's working from this end.

cdrinkworth,
hey I'm all over that! I used to do that kind of stuff all the time in NY... had some of the best cuts that way.

Kiki,
Oh I'm glad you're reading it... definitely not a "beach read" but you'll get pretty attached to the characters (both good & bad) as you go.
and LOL about the Shear Genius... you know I'm not above cutting my own ;)

Haley,
I can't imagine anything funnier than a librarian watching YouTube videos on the job!

I live in south Texas (AKA Mosquito Central) and I do this for mosquito bites AND ant bites: dab a little alcohol on the bite, as soon as possible. I use a Q-tip (and *dab*, do not wipe--you want the alcohol to go into the bite). On my boys, the mosquito bite will not turn into a knot (it ends up just being a red dot) and with ant bites, they will not turn into a "white pustule" (yuck, just writing that!).

HTH!!

Kat,
Interesting. Okay I'll try that. Seems better for you then putting hydrocortisone on 24 hours a day!

ant bites HUH?! I don't think the ants bite up here in the northeast. Or maybe that is the bug bites I am getting. We have tons of those tiny sugar ants around.

I usually read two books in conjunction with each other, one light/beachy read and the other...not. I like Big Rock Candy Mtn because the characters are complex, loving them and disliking them on the same page is what makes it a great read, I'm glad you recommended it!!!

Kiki,
Definitely put "Crossing to Safety" on your reading list... much less intense while still having very developed characters.

House is coming together!

It makes me want a new place to decorate. Which one way or another I may have soon.

Actually I'm talking to a theater in Chapel Hill, The interwebs tell me that's only three hours from Asheville. If I end up down there, there must be family-in-exile hanging out! (Which would be funny as we didn't do that when we lived a mere hour apart... but that was never for more than a few months. Curse this nomadic life)

Of course I could end up in Cincinnati or Chicago this time... I never really know.

Oh my: rambling! The point was, it'd be neat to be near(ish) you guys if I have to move far away, and the house is looking good! You don't have a deadline, just your own comfort level, so don't let it get you down!

Elizabeth,
Oh that would be great! Keep abreast of any job developments.
