Not So Patiently Waiting

I got this advent calendar at Starbucks 2 years ago for about $9 (It was marked down from $16 even though it wasn't after the 1st... weird). This year I spent $9 bucks on 3 bags of Christmas candy and was able to fill them all up and still have ample provisions stashed away for an emergency... like the one I'm having right now... that only 5 9 candy cane kisses can fix.

I loved those calendars as a kid (Ok, I STILL do!)

Baby is looking so grown up.

I have the SAME calendar. And because it's a bad idea for me to have candy in the house (NO WAY would I wait for each day... all 24 days would be eaten already) I put DOG treats in mine. Yup, I'm that girl. My dog has an advent calendar. She gets a treat every night anyway so it all works out.

Ok, now yall think I'm crazy. But whatever I support crazy :)

ooh candy cane hershey's kisses are the BEST. But they are soooo addictive, I'm impressed you stopped at 9...

I love, love, love the shot of the girls with their head's together....so sweet!!!

I have an advent but it just opens to a picture plus Kid would love it...it's Biblical. : )

Side note: I'm back on your site to pull our pork tenderloin recipe AGAIN. Every time I am going to cook for someone, they ask for this. Huge hit.

P.O.M,
awesome... I'm so glad :)

jeannie,
I support crazy too!

wootini,
They are literally the best. Another reader sent me some last year and it was the greatest day of my life. I never would have know they existed otherwise...or that they'd be so good!

Kiki,
Oh you know Kid would love it. Usually she has one of those as well... but I dropped the ball with being away for thanksgiving this year.

Rah,
Last year I had good success with portioning them out in little snack bags. 9 pieces is 220 calories and I'd at least know by how many empty bags I had how much I had eaten. This year I'm just eating them straight from the big bag... oops...
