Step One To Not Killing Myself

Somewhat of a Before (after hanging the rod and curtains... but before painting and clearing out all the shit):
note Mr F's pants... just sayin'

Somewhat of an After (still waiting on carpet, hanging pictures, dealing with the bookcase, installing our sconces, and getting my mother's piano in here):

note that the paint stops just past the curtains on that long wall... that shall be blue soon...

Plan on Sept 11th for the piano.

It looks great I love the curtains. I may be going to cost plus this week just to look at curtains. I cant wait to see the blue.

Hmm...do you have another room where the piano can go? Because I love the layout just as you have it. It feels really well-put together, and despite the pants, clean. The lines are great. Toss some art up on the walls, and I wouldn't touch a thing. (I'll trust you that the lighting needs to be swapped out. I didn't look that closely.)

Deb,
There is no lighting... 2nd house in a row with no overhead at all. We have two Rejuvenation sconces we bought for our old house that we never installed so they're going in. The piano will go where the red cabinet is. We'll move that. It's lighter ;)

Looking good -- I like how the room is shaping up... and I'm seriously thinking about getting those curtains...

Nice furniture. We have similar couch and chair styles.

If you want to go with a 1970's theme, I have an avocado green toilet and matching sink I would be glad to rip out for you.

Where did you get those drapes?

it looks so warm, cozy and inviting, great job! I love that you have nature right outside the doors, that green is great against your room

Bob,
Cost Plus World Market. They happen to be on sale right now. These are the 96" ones and they aren't hanging up in the curtain display but are under those in with the packaged drapes.
