Oh, Goody!

Another numbered post!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1  The other day, when I was at Starbucks, I got one of their iTunes giveaway codes (does everyone else know about this? Get on it.  I have gotten so many great apps this way).  It was for KAMI a puzzle game, which I would never have known about or tried on my own... but, as it turns out, I love.  Plus it's too hard for Mr F and that's always a bonus for my self esteem.  Anyway, I've been meaning to tell you, 2 thumbs up on the KAMI app.

#2 This is the best I can do for a wedding shot of the Furious Clan:

Sorry about the sun in our faces and the weird angle...
there were only drunk people around to take photos.
(P.S. doesn't Mr F's arm around my back look REALLY weird??)

#3  I have finally convinced Mr F to try concrete finish on our hideous flesh toned laminate countertops.  I'm so excited!!  Thank you, Katieo for helping me convince him it was doable.  We are going to try them with a stain that looks a bit like soapstone like these folks did.

#4 Kid DID put the cannibalism bit in her essay for her test.  We laughed all the way home. And now she's got $20 in her pocket.  (FWIW, She got an A+, but her teacher did not remark on the cannibalism)

#5 Spring Break starts tomorrow for us.  I am so excited to have the break, but also that it means we are almost done juggling this crazy school year with the two schools situation.  I cannot wait to give up this ridiculous school run I have to do. Anyway, the real news is that we are going to visit Mr F's mom in CT.  (What the what?!?!)  This should definitely be interesting.  I have to say, I am not as nervous about that as I would have been when his father was alive.  In many ways, we think that maintaining a relationship will be easier now.  We'll see... in any event, we are taking the northern route and stopping half way in Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, the falls are still kind of frozen and the Maid in the Mist boat isn't running yet, which explains why the hotels were so cheap.  Oh well, hopefully it's still impressive.  We need to stop somewhere anyway, it might as well have a view.

Bitch Fest Friday and bonus boring updates!!!

I don't personally have any major bitches. We had two showings yesterday and another one coming up this afternoon. I'm pretty happy about that since doing the major cleaning on Wednesday is seeing me through 3 showings with only a moderate amount of *perfecting*.

The weather has been all over the place. I feel like we're already back in Michigan (that's a weather reference... all you non-Michiganders). Yesterday afternoon a crazy high speed wind blew through. It was insane and then poof it was over. Weird. But I liked it. That's some of the stuff I love about a Michigan spring... stormy, eerie, tornados... we don't get very much weather drama here. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe we'll get there before it's all over (please?!!).

Spring is strangely late here which I've always been surprised about. Plenty of people on the internets have posted shots of buds and flowers. We've only got tulip leaves coming up now and a few crocuses. I saw some buds on our neighbors willow tree.

I keep hoping someone will make an offer on the house before I have to plant our front bed. It needs it! But those damn slugs (remember?!!!) they eat everything and it's like flushing money down the toilet. For now I can still pull off the dormant garden look. If we get back from Easter break I'll have to do something. I think we might also have a rabbit in the mix...

That's all folks.

Everyone else have at it.

Updates... Of All Kinds

#1 Loving our hotel. Loving it. We will never stay onsite again.

#2 How can relaxation be so freaking exhausting?. We're exhausted (well Mr F & I are).

#3 Baby, while not totally into Disney (hates the rides), loves riding the parking lot trams... so she is guaranteed at least two moments of bliss every day.

#4 We do not have free wireless... so getting online has been a low priority.

#5 Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Shopping Spree

I just got back from a major Target trip. I haven't had one of those in quite awhile. Happily Baby complied (mostly). I actually trolled the aisles and even bought myself some nail polish (why did I decide I couldn't move any of it last summer?) and a hat (which Kid insists looks ridiculous... so... that might go back... because...well... she is a model and I guess she would know). And my favorite kind of underwear (I'm sure you wanted to know that). It always amazes me that I can wear through underwear in a year... maybe I should stop buying it at Target.

Baby, for one, LOVES the underwear section at Target (and interestingly men do too... I always see men driving their carts through there as if it was on the way to something... its not). She always gets very excited about the bras... "MOOMIES!!!" she shouts and lunges herself from the cart to touch them. She was greatly disappointed that I wasn't buying the padded "teenager" bras that were covered in hearts and rainbows. I was a bit disappointed that she didn't insist on wearing one for the duration of our trip... that would have been funny... next time I might suggest it.

I got the girls much needed sandals (I may have even found a pair that passes Kid's ridiculous "Nomar" tightening fixation) and miracle of miracles I found soft jersey shorts in the girls section for Kid. This is a big deal because Kid needs a medium in "Girls" but her tastes run toward "Toddler" (and believe me I'm thankful for that) so shopping for her can be really challenging. Mostly because the Girls section is often a bit too teen oriented in style to meet her comfort requirements. So I was really excited to find those shorts and I was really happy for her to put them on and just see how much more comfortable she was in bigger clothes. Why did it not occur to me sooner that she needed a bigger size? Sorry about that Kid but you just keep growing and growing (seriously she'll be taller than me in a year or two for sure). I mean, really, I'm only 3 sizes bigger than her... it kind of freaks me out sometimes.

Oh and I got a nice new trowel. That might not sound too thrilling... but... this week I dug up our front flower beds and planted 40+ bedding plants and did it with a child's plastic sand shovel and/or my hands. It wasn't fun. And I have been sore for DAYS... and digging clay out from under my fingernails.

In other news I've got some big Thank You gift boxes to prepare and ship out next week. I've got a couple of families I'd really like to honor with a little something or other. I'm excited about it.
