Christmas Decorating... Phase Two

When you are an overachiever and you can't hang your beautiful glass ornaments what do you do?

You spend a whole day making Swedish Pepparkakor to hang on your banister.

Pepparkrarkor!!!!!!!

We had a conversation about this over the weekend. My husband was gobbling gingerbread and kept saying like a parrot "pepparkrakor!" and I'm like "it's gingerbread!" I know, cause our friend who made it specifically made gingerbread, not pepperkrakor. But we had actual pepparkrakor at the Norwegian church a few weeks ago. Tasty!

How are you going to keep Canine or Baby from devouring your hard work, right off the banister?

Even before I read your labels, I was thinking that in my house it would take approximately 1.3 seconds for the dog to be devouring cookies, banister, garland, and all (this is the same dog who will eat children's toys; she's not too particular). But also that the kids would be eating them up too. You must have children who listen to rules far better than mine do. -sigh- If only I had your super-powers...

Norwegian Church!?!?
dammit why didn't I marry a Norwegian?!

yes there is a difference. Pepparkakor is much crunchier.

Canine is too short to reach it! heehee!
As is Baby for that matter. She is very interested in it though!

mommytime,

as I stated above fortunately they are too short to get at 'em. I also have dozens in the kitchen to distract them with! ;)

Mostly Canine just wants dirty diapers and socks!

Those look so good! My dog would eat them for sure....

erin,

I've been hearing that a lot lately ;)

I did come home to find yet another diaper ripped up on the floor!

Crunchier and it has flecks of actual black pepper in it! Yum!

Yup, here's the church. http://kirken.org/
We wanted to get married there but they charged $400, and since it was just the two of us, we thought that was silly.
