In Case You Were Wondering...

I have not made anymore progress on Baby's stocking not that I have anything to put in it anyway.

I will not be cooking dinner this week. period. I need the kitchen for cookies. Little Caesar's $5 Hot N' Ready... we're comin' for ya!

Sledding counts as exercise... and I won't be doing any more than that.

I have not wrapped a single present yet.

I have 50 more envelopes to address.

There is nothing I enjoy more than my 4 pm cup of coffee... okay there a few things.. my kids, world peace...

Gift cards for the 9-15 year olds is fine right?... Target?

Baby was up hysterical again last night... when one thing ends another begins... this morning I discovered the most horrific diaper rash I had ever seen... For real. Open sore style. Poor Baby.

Even if Kid can't read... she can *read* the logos on shipping boxes and figure out where they came from! Little Stinker!

Tonight I'm making ginger snaps for Kid's teachers.

I have managed to maintain my weight without calorie counting... and am really enjoying the freedom from constant food awareness!

Man, you crack me up. I want to be you when I grow up!

My kid's teachers are getting gift cards. No homemade cookies here. And I think 9-15 year olds would love gift cards from Target.

Well thank God.. since as you know it is the only store I go to!

last year I made cookies (she's in preschool) for both teachers, the teacher's aid, and the director... Kid painted them little wooden ornaments (shit.. I just remembered that... might have to go to Michael's tonight!!) and I gave the school a $50 gift card to the teacher's supply store. I guess I cared more what they thought of me last year! ;)

I want to be you when I grow up!
Your husband probably likes you better.. I'm not exactly easy to be married to!

Crap, am I supposed to get the director something, too? Man, there should be a manual for this stuff.

Haha, I'm pretty high maintenance. Fortunately, he likes maintaining me.

I feel your pain Mrs F!!! The Holiday cards I ordered were to arrive Dec 12, are not arriving till Dec 19. Holy Shit, I'm going to be crazy till that gets done. I've got gifts to buy, wrap, think of, put together, etc. I'm a tad stressed. Are Mr F and Canine out of the woods yet?? I can't believe the peeing, I'd be out of my mind, because that only happens when you can least handle it.

I think if Baby could vote, she'd rather have you tend to her open sores (OWWWWW!) than a stocking. :) Right? Right?

The sledding pictures were so great!

Ps LOVE the 4 p.m. coffee. Gotta get jazzed to amp through the last hour of work, and my workout!

ML,
are you guys back already?!

yikes on the cards.. that is cutting it close! I'm hoping to get them out tomorrow.

I just have to say that Baby is so freaking cute right now!!! She has to walk around with a naked butt to air out the rash and she is eating little gingerbread men which she asks for by smaking her lips together.. and she keeps showing them to Canine and quickly walking away saying "na...na (no no)" Very very cute. Ah the last baby is so adorable.. because it is the last!

Mr F is out of the woods... Canine I am watching very carefully... he is still on the shit list!

Having my 4pm coffee and snack always makes me feel British... and of course I enjoy that ;)

One thing that works WONDERFUL for diaper rash is Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Yes, I'm serious! THE. BEST. STUFF.

And they sell it at Tarjay!

Coffee=blech. Told you I was insane!

Heather,
you're not kidding on the open sores front... jesus christ.. I cannot even imagine how painful that is! :(

Mrs Furious said...

Tina,

I will go get some. Right now it is actually so bad nothing sticks to the open wound part... horrible...

hey ML didn't J have this once?

gift cards are good, but do you know what would be even better? A new subscription to Seventeen. :)

I think both kids had that once, I think I did just CAKE on a good paste for the butt, like thick, when/if you have to put a diaper on her. Its terrible looking I know, and I'm sure terrible feeling, and doesn't go away right away, once its like that it takes a couple of days, from what I remember. I think I may even have given some tylenol for pain.

From the photos, she is nothing but cute, and Kid making the snow angel is a treasure! Love that baby smacks her lips for cookies, and tells canine, no!!! AH! ML

Robin,

the director... well we have a very small school so there are only 6 total employees. It is just what is done at this school.

Yes, home from Bethlehem, by the way, through the snow storm, nightmareish. Not as bad as being with the in-laws, luckily in the cutest old Christmassy town I've ever seen!!!! Helped put everyone in the mood! Very Sweet, old, yet beautifully fixed up town. Mansions you wouldn't believe, unless of course you have been there. Light festival, over all of downtown, with little lit candles in white paper bags up and down the streets, including in front of the mansions!

lol Jasmine...
your Dad has given me some grief about getting you Seventeen last year! I actually may have renewed it already.. I have to check!

But for Kai.. that would be fine?

Mrs Furious said...

ML,

uggh... it is actually oozing... terrible! I literally can't get anything to stick to it. I had to deal with that hideous nurse Mary on the phone.. so I never know if she has misdiagnosed us or not! If it gets worse I guess I'll have to see if they can see her tomorrow.
Yes I'll have to give her some Tylenol so she'll sleep tonight!

Mrs Furious said...

ML,
no I haven't been to Bethlehem... must put that on my list! Sounds fantastic!

I swear by Burt's Bees diaper cream.. It smells all nice a eucalyptus-y, too, and it's the only thing that gets rid of the really really serious diaper rash Daughter is prone to. It's also at Target.

Can I suggest something faster than cookies (unless you're already there)? You can buy lovely little (disposable) mini loaf pans with clear pop-on lids. Then make a giant batch of your favorite cranberry orange bread (email me for recipe if you want), pop all those babies in the oven at once, and you're practically done. No multiple batches, no cookie sheets in and out, etc. Tie a ribbon around each one and stick in a sprig from whatever evergreen is in your yard, and you're good to go.

If it helps, I'm guessing all mommies are pretty much where you are. If their presents are wrapped, it's only because their home renovation disaster is on hold or some such thing...just guessing. Hang in there!

mommytime,
you are 2 hours to late!!! But fantastic idea.. for all you gift givers who have not yet committed to big gingersnaps and spritz cookies. Next year I will take your advice... that would have been much easier.

where are you getting those mini loaf pans by the way?

MommyTime said...

Kroger, in the aisle that's got all the utensils and disposable turkey roasters and stuff. I think they might be seasonal, but I've used them the last three years, when I've had to get together gifties for a dozen daycare staff, the mail lady, etc., so I'm pretty sure they appear every winter. Hmmmm, maybe I'll put up a post tomorrow with some sweet bread recipes...

Mrs Furious said...

mommytime,
thanks!
and yes please do... I still need to have some things on hand to give to people who stop buy with gifts I was not planning on receiving!

Julie said...

Mrs F, why don't you buy a stocking for baby for this year only (she won't remember) and then make the stocking in January when you have more time. Just think, you would have 11 1/2 months to make it.

Hey, what are spritz cookies?

Mrs Furious said...

Julie,

We actually have a couple of old stocking laying around.. and I have thought about doing that. The truth is I am a procrastinator and I am not actually down to the wire enough to start it. If I can't I can't and I'll use a different one... but I suspect she will have a stocking... it just won't be beaded.

So funny and so true! I have 4 kids with one b day 12/18 and one b day 12/30, can you say overwhelmed??? I love your blog, we live in Jackson, MI and go to Ann Arbor often. Gotta have my Zingermans...

Mrs Furious said...

Hi Emmy,
thanks for commenting! All sorts of people are coming out of the woodwork this week :)

2 b'days and xmas.... I'd be dead from an aneurysm!
I don't know how I would be able to do it all and make it special for each kid at the same time... it stresses me out just thinking about it. God... and the baking you must have to do. I hope you have a bigger kitchen than I have! And a bigger bank account! ;)

Mrs Furious-

I'm new here. Love You!

For Baby: If it's a SERIOUS problem, you need to use Triple Paste. They carry it at my Target, but IDK if it's at all Targets. Its a little more than others (like $7 I think?) but it WORKS. Quick.

Butt Paste and Burts Bees are great for maintenance and minor irritation, but for open sores you need Triple Paste. It's the strongest OTC you can buy.

Look at me, I'm the ass rash queen!

Mrs. F., keep in mind that Baby's name is significantly longer than Kid's and give yourself some time on that stocking!

I hear you on the teacher gifts. In addition to school teachers, don't forget piano teacher, trumpet teacher, sport coaches; and yesterday was my kid's bday, so I was also making cupcakes to take to school and a cake for at home with the family. It's an insane time of year. Oh, I mean it's "the most wonderful" time of the year!

Mrs Furious said...

Hi Caren!
thanks :) and thanks for commenting!

yes!! I was just at Target for the Butt Paste (they were also out of the Burt's Bees- mommytime) and I saw the Triple Paste and bought it just in case.
Oh it is BAD.. so I think I'm going to slather her up with it right away!!

Mrs Furious said...

Gigs...
oy! I know! I should have thought of that before we named her! I can practically fit it on the stocking. Plus (I'm sure you are not surprised by this) I am using a special font which I need Mr F to print out for me in multiple sizes until I can get the right layout!!

Julie,

Spritz are DELISH!
they are a butter cookie that you use a cookie press to make. You've probably had them a million times.. sometimes they are little wreaths or christmas trees. They are actually pretty easy to make.

I'll be posting my cookie recipes when I get a chance.
