Please Tell Me...

I'm not the only one who has let a few things go this week.

Wow, now I like you even more because your house looks just like my house today! I am currently patting myself on the back because I cleaned 1/2 of the living room.I'm so over it now though Im going to decorate cookies with the kids and make a whole additional layer to the mess in the dining room. Maybe that is where the dog will poop today to top it all off, that would be nice.

Well I just left hoping to get to the grocery store only to have Baby fall asleep halfway there... so I'm back... and now the playroom also has a torn up diaper(used) all over it. Kid is now at preschool and I am (Baby permitting) going to vacuum.
Then off to the grocery store... and on to Kid's preformance.. then to Target to make returns (other kid jeans that don't fit) before the returns dept is over run. I want to vomit. And all those boxes?!? yeah I need to open and assemble the gifts inside... still make the damn stocking...

Twenty years from now, you'll look back and groan again....*S*

Just take it one step at a time; that's all you can do.

I'm a grammie now, but I surely remember when MY house looked like that. I had 4 little kids when I was 26. There are years I don't even remember.

Piled on an armchair in the corner of my living room, I have three loads of laundry to fold (but hey, it's clean). The boy got into the bottle of nail polish that I forgot to put away last night and I caught him before he poured it all out (but it was still dripping down the sides of the bottle) and sent him to his room for not bringing said questionable item to me instead of messing with it. Daughters 2 & 3 are watching Dora and waiting for lunch. My office looks like a Staples store exploded in it. My husband's suggestion to "busy" myself this morning was to load the dishwasher while I wait for him to get off of his stupid game and help me clean the house.

I'm not going to even mention the Christmas tree, still in its box in the basement. I'm not saying anything about it at all.

I have to mop my kitchen floor, and surgically remove dried food from my dining room hardwood floor before it becomes fossilized.

Did I mention that we're also remodelling? Add dust to every imaginable (and unimaginable) surface.

that is EVERY day look for me and my house, and my car. the car oh the car !! hubby HATES my car. he is disgusted in all the shit in there. i just smile and say OH WELL, let's see what your car would look like after a week with the kids !!

wootini said...

Daniela we are remodeling too! Dust is absolutely EVERYWHERE. Why did we think that would be a good idea - at the holidays?!

Mrs F - you are most definitely not alone!! It is utter chaos in our entire house. Seriously - there are piles of toys, papers, and random junk everywhere. I think the only solution is going to be to rent a dumpster and throw 50% of everything away. I'm about this far away from posting up on Craigslist to "Come and get it - everything, just take it all!"

And we don't have a tree yet either...

The presents are crammed into my closet which is overflowing - nothing wrapped yet, needless to say!

And I'm really supposed to be working right now.

Hey! I have that little Infantino grocery cart seat cover thing! Isn't it the best?

Anyway, I totally feel for you - our house is a DISASTER right now. Whenever I have a down moment I use it to try to relax for 2 minutes, and as a result - disasterness. It is the season, it is so freakin' busy!

Thank goodness no one is supposed to come over on the holidays. I will lock the door and shut the curtains if they show up unexpectedly. Seriously.

Let things go? That looks like my house on a good day!

I'm here... I've got to run to the grocery store... look at my update I've been VERY busy...

I'll get back to you all at 4!!!!!!!!!

I can't stop I'm losing my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you deserve a medal? who do you think you are--kid? i didn't witness any dancing, but i've got an extra medal for you if you really feel like you deserve it.

P.O.M. said...

Wow - you are good.

I'm laughing at the McD's bag in the car. I tease all my friends with kids that their cars ALWAYS smell like McDonalds for some reason.

Mrs Furious said...

khb,
oh I don't need that one... I sucked Kid's up when I was vacuuming under the bookshelf in the playroom... I just took it away from Baby who was teething on it - surely it is made entirely of lead!

P.O.M.
I actually have 3 bags in there right now! When I first had Kid I never wanted to even drive takeout home in my car I was so fearful of developing the "kid food" smell. Now I realize the eau d'Mc Donald's is probably one of the nicer smells I have going on in there!

Sequana,
Hi, thanks for commenting!
"There are years I don't even remember."
LOL

Daniella,
"Piled on an armchair in the corner of my living room"
Around here that is considered put away!

"My office looks like a Staples store exploded in it"
If it makes you feel any better our basement looks like a garbage truck exploded all over it! No. Seriously.

Mrs Furious said...

Feener,

Thank God someone elses car looks like that. Sadly mine also looks like that year round. It doesn't matter how clean I get it... 1 day later it looks like that again... and that isn't even including my "trunk" area!

Kid Art,
We've done the dumpster and I HIGHLY recommend it! Worth every penny just to be able to clear so much crap out. Of course as you can see... it didn't stop us from collecting more crap!

Mrs Furious said...

Erin,

I love that cover! I just wish I didn't have to readjust for the different carts...

"Whenever I have a down moment I use it to try to relax for 2 minutes, and as a result - disasterness."
EXACTLY... I had to really suck it up and go without lunch in order to get that clean up down while Baby was asleep!

Avery Gray,
"That looks like my house on a good day!"

shhhhh... us too ;)

Robin said...

It looks great! I wish I had the energy to pick up. I always feel so much better about life when the house is straight. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often or for very long.

My best friend told me last year she was going to hire a housekeeper for me (one time) for my next birthday. Well, my birthday was Sunday, and no one has shown up yet. I guess she forgot. :(

Mrs Furious said...

Robin,
I'm sorry you are sick! :(
and that your housekeeper didn't show up!...I guess it was too good to be true!

With Xmas, the b'day and strep... my goodness you must be stressed!

and the kids have both been home and awake for 2.25 hours... the house already is trashed!

Mrs Furious said...

And Emily,
I of course commented before I read your comment on the other post! Sorry! I will stick with your actual name ;)

Heather said...

You RULE!

BTW, by husband would divorce me in 3 seconds if the car looked like that. He is OBSESSED with keeping it absolutely pristine. On the inside and the outside.

Mrs Furious said...

Heather,
"He is OBSESSED with keeping it absolutely pristine"
sure sign of the ADD....

and he might not if it was his psycho children who were responsible for 85% of it!

emmyjw said...

You rock! That is impressive for an hour, are you on something???LOL. I also managed to clean the main floor today, of course at this moment half of it is already undone and Mr W doesn't get home until 8:30 so he'll probably think I was lying that it was all clean at 1:45 today.

Mrs Furious said...

emmy,
"of course at this moment half of it is already undone and Mr W doesn't get home until 8:30 so he'll probably think I was lying that it was all clean at 1:45 today"

that is precisely why I document these things on the blog!

and if Mr F didn't come home until 8:30 I would actually have to be on something... or be divorced.. one or the other

Anonymous said...

you did good! very impressed, love the feeling of going from that before and the after!

ML

Mrs Furious said...

ML,
oh believe me it was such a huge relief to get that taken care of.
tomorrow I'll tackle the car! (Baby was asleep in the car while I cleaned... otherwise that would have never happened)

angie said...

There's a house across the street that would love your expertise.

I am going to bop over with a nice loaf of bed that daycare made us and our poinsetta...might as well have someone enjoy them.

Merry Christmas

emmyjw said...

I actually vacuumed AGAIN at 7:30 pm only to have Ella sprinkle tortilla chips all over the dining room. It looked like snow. I hate that Mr W works 12 hour shifts, but since he finished his degree in May and now makes a lot more money it is easier to take, even better when we pay off the student loans...

Unknown said...

Holy moly! Good job!! Now I need to do that to my place.

My car is just about as messy as yours. Maybe worse. Hahha.

Mrs Furious said...

angie,

enjoy your trip... we'll close the door behind you ;)

emmy,
more money longer shift I could probably handle that. Mr F works nights from home... but he does that once the kids are asleep and so it rarely messes with our evenings. He is usually gone 8:30-6/6:30.

Cara,
lol.... at least I can blame it on the kids! ;)

Unknown said...

too bad I don't have kids to blame it on. It is ALL me. haha.

Mrs Furious said...

oh Cara,
I've been there... although I used to blame it in Canine!

Deb said...

Beautiful work.

What's that cool pod looking thing?

Mrs Furious said...

Deb,

that is the Ikea Egg Chair (probably has some swedish name). It is badass and one of the best things we've ever gotten for Kid. $70-$80 I think.
