I had to laugh because I took all these BEFORE and AFTER pics of my house around the holidays -- you know, bathroom with no sink or toilet and paint trays everywhere...then bathroom with sink and toilet and lovely green walls, etc... Then I missed the reasonable window to post them all due to the untimely demise of my photocard reader. Now we're back to Hurricaine Status around here, and I keep contemplating posting a Before/After/Aftermath series. Because, really, who can keep that magazine-quality "After" going on except people with no kids, no pets and no jobs?
I am SO feeling for you. My poor husband helped me clean and organize the entire house on Sunday and I have already turned it back to semi chaos. He seems to put everything back where it belongs....the baby and I are not so good at that.
I think I know what a goal of mine for 2008 should be....
LOL I literally cleaned and organized myself sick on Monday. Guess what it looks like today? A big mess with the furniture in different positions. Oh well... at least I tried. Now my sinuses hurt so bad I couldn't fix it even if I wanted to. Man, I was so hoping to start school/dance/karate/violin/band/co-op next week with a clean house, but hey, why break tradition? I think the mess feeds their creativity...
Emily, "I've accepted the inevitable and recently bought a secretary at Ikea, so I can at least cram it all behind a door if I need to..."
I have a little something like that.... in the playroom one of the toy cubbies has a door and in it is a huge pile of crap I have cleared off my desk (100x at least.... god only knows what is in that mountain of papers!).... but it is very handy when people are coming over! ;)
Mrs Furious, I am way too afraid of my mess to even consider photographing the proof of what a crappy housekeeper I am! I swear one of these days though it might be what actually scares me enough to get it all cleaned up!!
Kiki, that is precisely why I do it. It works everytime. Sometimes I'll look back at the pics in the day and just be like "MY GOD what a goddamn shit hole!" It is the same with photographing my outfits... you see the whole thing at once... and you can't deny the truth!
your taglines just crack me up! My house is constantly messy and it drives me crazy. And trust me, a bigger house only means a bigger mess. We moved in 6 months ago and the house was basically bare. Now every single nook and cranny is full of crap. It multiplies when I am not looking, I swear!
Except when otherwise noted all recipes are the personal and creative property of Mrs Furious. Although you are welcome to cook them up and share them with your neighbor.... any attempt to reprint or profit from them is not permitted.

Amy,
lol
Mommytime,
you should still post them... there should be no statute of limitations on getting the cleaning validation you deserve!
Erin,
At least you have one person in the house who picks up after themselves... that is more than I can say about anyone around here!

"A big mess with the furniture in different positions"
lol... I don't know what you are talking about ;)
Your desk looks just like mine... work or home, my entire life my desks have looked like a hurricane just hit. I can always find everything though!

Canine F is starting to become my own personal "Where's Waldo".

Deb,
shit he was even on the goddamn sledding ramp today I could have posted you a picture.
speaking of Where's Waldo we just got those books for Kid and she LOVES them... I thought about those books for years.
I guess we're doomed to years of messes with these damn kids, babies and canines!?!
Danielle,
I'm trying to accept it.
I always think if our house was bigger it would help... but I'm not sure that is true.
