Back On Track... Or At Least Getting There

I didn't want to do it.... but... I did.
I sucked it up and got on the treadmill.
I didn't do an hour of crazy cardio but I pumped out a decent workout.
And that's enough.

I really, really, really don't want to buy exercise equipment... I just want to go outside!!

Okay, you've motivated me. Plus, it will be a tropical 25-30 degrees this weekend, so I'm going for a serious power walk around the lake tomorrow.

Guess I won't mention we had to turn on the air conditioning tonight as it is too hot and humid today... It was 70 degrees at 6:45 this morning and when I left work at 4:00, it was 85! And humid.

Mrs F -
I'm so proud of you. You really are a great motivator.

thanks Feener!

Michelline,
Tomorrow's low will be 8. But I'll take that over hot and humid any day.

as for motivating... ugh... I did do it but it didn't get me pumped up like it usually does. I'm hoping next week I can get more into it.
thanks though :)

Mrs. F, I'll work out tomorrow if you will, I have to work until 6 pm, I am coming home to check your site, if you've already worked out...I will too, if not, I'm going to post that I'm working out!!! I need the motivation, those size 14's are too comfortable!! I want to cry!

Good for you!

I was reading your previous post, and I'm in the same boat...sort of lacking motivation...haven't been sticking to my eating plan very well...last week I was feeling like I needed a "break" but my plan is a lifetime plan which allows for, well, life, you know the stuff that happens, so a break shouldn't be needed...so I said no to myself, and now I'm finding daily, without fail almost, I'm eating 100 calories above my allotment, and my allotment is generous (1600)...I wonder what gives? Maybe it's the moon or something...hey...we did have an eclipse...think that could be it? :-D

Really in all seriousness, for some reason I'm hungrier these past couple weeks...and it's not PMS...I'm POST that...hahaha...

I have been eating a lot of carbs, good ones mostly, and less protein than usual...that may be my problem...

If you have any words of wisdom I could use them about now.

Kiki,
DEAL!

Dinah Soar,
where do you live? I'm wondering if this is a seasonal issue... winter is dragging and we all want a little serotonin boost and we're getting it from our food.
I'll say this...
I've been increasing my protein intake and that has helped. It hasn't helped me get on the treadmill ;)... but I don't have the carb crash and fall cycles I was having, which only led to more carb cravings.
I think 20% protein is perfectly reasonable and healthy goal. If you aren't hitting that already maybe try and reach that next week and see if it helps in the food department.
80 grams of protein is your 20% goal.

what does 80 grams equal about? Is that a weird question? I like to have a picture in my head of the portions I should be eating.

Kiki,
first I haven't worked out yet.. but I am going to at 5
pm!

80 grams is 20% of 1600 calories.
I eat a little over 2000 calories so I'm shooting for 100+ grams. 20% isn't really that much but I find I have to be really focused to get even close.

2 oz of lean meat (like turkey) is about 13 g. A piece of whole wheat bread is typically 4-5 g.
4 oz of fish/meat is about 28 g.
a kashi go lean roll bar is 12 g.
and egg is 6 g.
a cup of milk is 8 g.
2 T of peanut butter is 9 g.
a packet of instant oatmeal is 3.7 g.
2 oreos is 2 g.

My lunch is usually about 20 g for a half sandwich and my dinners are typically in the high 30s.
