Of course she was unimpressed.... as usual! I also put up heart garland. This is a major step down from years past when I went completely crazy with balloons and doilies and whatnot.
The kids and I made dh valentines cards last night, but I totally forgot to get them anything. Dh remembered and ran out today and grabbed two of those $1 heart candy boxes from Target and we'll give them to them tonight. Nothing for the baby. Baaaaddddd mommy.
On an upnote, they'll now have something to talk about in therapy years from now... (it all started when I was 3 and mom forgot valentines day...)
Oh, and on an unrelated note (though it does have to do with LOVE), I tried the meatball soup last night and my family is in LOVE!!! My girls ate 2 helpings!! (usually they just kinda pick at dinner), and even the baby loved it! So easy, so good.. just wanted to say thanks! Definitely a new staple in our household!
Heather, I don't know.... he might come back to me a little better trained! I'm afraid I might ruin Sam for you ;)
But really I want a manual for you run your house... how do you do it!?!
Marie, I didn't do anything last year (just had Baby). My mom always gave us gifts on V-day so it is kind of ingrained in me to make a big deal out of it. Interestingly more for the kids than for me & Mr F.
Marie, Oh I'm glad. Yup it is an across the board winner. I almost feel foolish taking credit for it since it is truly a dump and stir dish... but it is good.
Last week I made it with noodles and 2 C frozen mixed veggies and 3/4 c of white beans (drained) and it was just as fast and like a Minestrone. We were out of meatballs. It was good.
I got my girls a long stemmed Dove chocolate rose each. And I got Chris some Harry and David's dark chocolate bing cherries and a card. We're not big Valentine's day people.
I don't even think we put up our Valentine's flag this year! I put it out for Chris to change it (I'm not tall enough), but I don't think it got done.
I'm just not a Valentine's Day fan. I really hate the commercialism of this day (weird I know, considering my adoration of the commercialism that is Christmas). Chris and I use our anniversary more like other people do Valentine's. And the restaurants are so stupidly expensive on the 14th. I'd rather go out on the 15th, LOL.
Besides, tonight we have some grouting to do so we can finish up redecorating Tori's room (paint, tile, new furniture). Hard to be romantic when you're on your hands and knees wiping up grout!
Oh Mrs. F. I have missed you. Haven't had blog-reading time this week until now.
That is the cutest Vday present for a little girl. I would have loved it. I bought my niece those same shoes and she wasn't as excited about them as I was.
P.O.M., Can you believe she hasn't even tried them on yet?!?! She has been begging me for sparkly shoes all year... I finally get them and she is completely unfazed!
I loved (well I still do but they're older now) being an aunt. I thought my heart would break every time I had to say goodbye to them. We actually moved from NYC to MI just to be near them while they were growing up.

I do wish you were my mom when i was kid instead of me having to be my own mom when i was a kid:)

You mentioned a wife swap and I think Mr. Furious would run down the street screaming after about 1 hour.
Heather
How sweet!
I woke up to a special post on my blog from Mr. Smoochiefrog. Feel free to stop by and puke from the sugary sweetness.
I did.
And then I cried.
Happy Valentines Day to you and yours!

Tina,
I'll go read it!

awww, completely sweet and adorable!LOL,they always expect something different than what we actually do,it's their job to keep us humble;)
That's totally sweet!! Isaac is getting a card, and that's it. He won't even know.
He gave me a present by sleeping ALL night last night!! And then waking up covered in vomit. Lucky mama.

Hey Torey,
sleeping through the night is worth a little vomit!
Michelline,
"We're not big Valentine's day people."
I am SHOCKED by that! Seriously.
