Things That Must Happen

We are going to get the "word" regarding Mr F's job in Asheville either tomorrow or Monday. The owners don't call you from their vacation to tell you they aren't interested if you know what I mean.

I'm filled with anxiety and sadness. It's easier to focus on the anxiety...

Here are the things we need to get done this weekend:
  • Buy stainless oven... we've already got a fridge & dishwasher... and the weird 80s cream stove is an EYESORE.

  • Scrape off large flaking paint chips off porch and re-paint (wishful thinking)

  • Mulch, mulch, mulch... instantly looks like we know what we're doing in the garden (right?)

  • Buy hanging baskets... never too soon to ramp up the curb appeal

  • Spray for ants... sorry Baby but your little friends are going "bye bye"

  • Order dumpster

a nice, way to get rid of ants? mix borax with sugar and lay out piles of it where the ants are.. harmless to kids and animals, not so nice on ants :0)

Thanks for the tip!

Mulch is right. We take architectural photos for a living and take a lot of pics for realtors. The number one thing they advise for "curb appeal" is putting out mulch. A few bright colored flowers will go a long way too if you don't already have them. Baking something right before you show the house helps too - makes people feel all warm and homey when they come inside.

Ken and I are listing our house on Tuesday, that same day she is taking pics of the house for the listing....guess what I've been doing all day??? Cleaning on a Saturday when I'm off...not my idea of a fun weekend!!! I feel for you Mrs.F....getting ready to list stinks!!!

Ugh.

That stinks that you will buy a new stove, but not really for you.

I'm thinking of you. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Julie,
Of course I've wanted a new stove for years.
Ah well...

Kiki,
Good luck with all your cleaning! When is your new home going to be ready for move in?

Sandcastle Momma,
Fortunately we do have well established perennial gardens... but we do need the mulch desperately just so everything looks clean... and a professional to keep up with all the weeding!

This is great news! Yay for Mr. F and the Furious clan opening a new chapter of life, as cliche as that sounds.

Anxiety = time for treadmill. You know it!

Heather,
"Anxiety = time for treadmill"
Actually last night it equalled 4.5 lemon squares ;)

Nutmeg,
tell me about it

When we bought our house it came with all the appliances... washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher, fridge. And they are all from the 60s/70s, but fortunately white. I dream of the day with new modern appliances! It probably won't happened until we move either. By then these things will be valuable antiques!

I've already peeked ahead (I'm a bit behind this weekend) and I know what's happening, but I still got a little nervous reading this, as if it was still a big mystery to me!
