I Just Want To Live In A Place A Little More Like This

Is that so wrong?

Is it wrong that I see that hill, and it makes me want to do wind sprints? I love not being pregnant anymore.

Gorgeous photos.

Mrs. F. I just read thru your last few posts and have to say that I am REALLY excited for you. What a great, adventurous spirit you have. It takes such courage to put your dreams out there and then even more courage to actually DO something about them!! I can feel the winds of change are blowin' for you.

Totally unsolicited advice which you can delete if you want, but just throwing it out there...
(I stumbled onto your blog awhile ago looking for recipe and diet stuff but I don't normally post comments)
The housing market has no hope of recovery for the next few years and the longer you wait to sell your home the lower the value will fall. You would make much more selling now than if you waited until Spring. Not sure how long ago you bought but if it’s in the last 3 years, you will not get what you paid. But the sooner it’s sold, the lesser the impact. Also, if you have a mortgage, you’ll be making payments between now and Spring so those also will not be recouped. I’m sorry if this sounds harsh, not my intention. Unfortunately it’s just the current economic reality – I work in corp real estate and my hubby is an economist so this stuff is pretty much my everyday life. But don’t take my word for it, research for yourself - there’s a lot of info out there, you just have to weed out the facts from the wishful thinking. I really enjoy your recipes and as readers benefit from your insights, thought it would be okay to share some with you in the hopes it may help.

Noley,
That's alright. I would sell NOW but we need to spend more time finding the right location. In our particular neighborhood we should actually be able to sell it for what we paid. Houses listed on our actual block (not as nice as ours either) are still selling for around our original buying price. Even if we lost some $ I'm okay with that. We would have paid out about 36k in rent if we had rented in this hood to cover our two years here anyway. Asheville has a bit of a bubble since it's a destination local much like Aspen is out West.

P.O.M,
Thanks. I'm excited. It'll either be good or bad... but either way it will be different. And I'm up for it.

Deb,
Not wrong. If I hadn't had to carry Baby on one hip or the other I might have tried that myself.

Deb and Mrs. F --

While you guys sprint up the hill, I shall be rolling down it like a very happy log. :)

I want to live in a place like that, too!

I will be the one sitting in one of those adirondack chairs with a frosty drink, though. Watching you guys log-roll.

Wow!!! So excited for you!!! Is it wrong that I love to move, the opportunity for newness, a change is always thrilling!! I'm also glad to hear that the school part is falling into place, they are lucky to have you!!!

And as for that hill...I'll log roll down with Haley, wind sprint back up with Deb and then have a drink on the hammock with Julie!! Lovely!!

Where were those photos taken? Was it a holiday or a friend's house or something else? Looks lovely!

Kniki,
They were taken HERE. It's about 30 or so miles from where we live now. No, we did not stay there ;) Mr F was doing a photo shoot for the chef and the girls and I got to poke around while he did. The big open lawns with the views... that is exactly what I'm looking for... and once you leave town it's possible (and not for a million bucks either).

Kiki,
Thank you.
I also like the idea of change.

Ladies,
For like a million dollars we could all meet up there and run, roll & drink to our hearts content.
