Let's start with The Good:
Yes... I weighed in at 113 on the day we left and came home less than a pound heavier! This makes me quite pleased. #1 it means that I can have an indiscretion or two (or 6 straight days) and not fall off the wagon. #2 it means that I probably am at a weight I can maintain as long as I keep my activity up. I have no problem having a weight range from 111 to 114.
Now for The Bad:
To mark our arrival back to the North it snowed last night. This sucks in a number of ways:
#1 It is really freaking cold out
#2 Even after warming up the car (yeah that's how we do it Michigan style) for 15 minutes it was still freezing in the car
#3 It takes a good 15 minutes longer to get both kids in their snowsuits and into the car (doubling the normal "getting ready" timing)
And onto The Ugly:
On top of the thrush that BOTH Baby and I have, which requires me to WRESTLE her to the floor... while she struggles and screams... to give her the medicine... But don't worry I only have to give it to her for NINE more days!..Baby has entered the phase of highchair eating that entails the purposeful dropping of food. Never mind that I spent a decent amount of time making her special buckwheat & pear waffles this morning. And sure that is what the splat mat is there for...
but she's got a pretty good arm on her!
Is it wrong to let her eat off the floor?!

That baby is just way too cute!! Good for you on managing your weight. I have been at it for 2.5 weeks and not a pound has been shed.
preppy mama,
Don't give up! I often had several weeks with no weight loss and then I'd drop three or four pounds. Are you calorie counting or what?
eating off the floor is good for ya...it helps with the clean up. ahh you are slowly motivating me for WW online. i was on a good streak with the exercise but haven't been since WED !! damn. going tomorrow AM.
Congrats on the weight. That's awesome! See? Mickey may be a money grubbing bastard, but he doesn't make you gain weight, LOL.
Send some snow our way :) We almost never warm up the car. It takes from our garage to the front of our neighborhood (right at 2 miles) for our car to warm up enough for the heater to blow warm air. This morning it was 34 degrees out. That's pretty damn cold for us. There was actually frost on several of my neighbor's yards. I had to go out after work and buy a coat (Florida style) for Tori. All she had in the way of winter coverings was a hoodie. Tomorrow's high is 65. Nice and cool :)

Thrush? That's horrible. And painful for you. I really feel for you.

Don't you just HATE that phase? Makes you want to murder them. But that's illegal. So you can't.
Michelline
34 is pretty damn cold... of course it is 18 out right now!
Feener
If I had to go somewhere to workout I never would... so you're one up on me!
I'll make you a deal. I'll workout Thursday and Saturday if you do!
Michelline,
yeah the thrush is no fun.. we had it in WDW but it didn't get bad until Monday. Thankfully the meds seem to be doing their thing!
hey email me your address.. I think Mr F owes you all $ for the football draft and then I can send you some cookies.
One summer, years ago, I worked at a kid's camp in the UP. I loved it so much I thought "I would love to live here all the time!"
Then I saw pictures of their winters. This Cali girl's jaw dropped to the floor and she got THO's just thinking about the cold.
Thank GOD my kid is too young for school. I can maintain my hermit existence for years to come. It's a necessary lifestyle in my part of snow country.
I want cookies, too.
Dude.. the UP is no joke!
It doesn't snow like that here.. but it is COLD and grey and miserable until March/April.
Deb,
hey don't you have some tunnels and walkways and whatnot out your way?
I was driving to McD (where else?) after I dropped Kid off... since I needed lunch and Baby was asleep so I couldn't leave the car... and I was damning the world that they don't have drive-thru EVERYTHING.. who needs to go outside?!? How can there not be a market for this. Why can't Whole Foods just bring my groceries to my car?... I'd pay a premium for that.
Yay on the weight stabilization despite Mickey's devious ways!
And the picture of the waffle made me fantasize the whole wheat eggo waffles I have in my freezer. Delish!
you know I eat waffles every damn day... Van's Hearty Oat Maple Fusion... fantastic!
The first snow of the winter brings on a deep and firey (and completely ludicrous) rage - I take weather as a personal affront. I, and everyone who has to listen to me spit and hiss like a wet cat, would be better off if I moved south.
Kashi Go Lean Waffles with frozen raspberries on top...my reason to wake up in the morning.
Back to reality...
Totally sucks after a vacation.

As a South-dweller, I imagine it would be the opposite for me. I would welcome the first snow happily and then as the snow dragged on I'd probably start to get irritated at the mess and inconvenience.
Chris,
I've been thinking about you guys all day... TRUST us you wouldn't like it! It was 5.. yes 5 freaking degrees this morning when I went out. That is fucking cold. It is so cold that you have to put emergency blankets in your car.. it is no joke. Your steering wheel feels like ice, you think your hands might break from the unbearable cold after scraping ice off your car for a mere 3 minutes. Humans aren't meant to endure these conditions. It is not like it looks in the movies.. or sking in Colorado where it is sunny everyday.
The first snow is kind of magical to me... when it isn't so cold yet and you can watch it fluttering down from the warmth of your living room.. reality of winter in the North is just plain painful!
P.O.M.,
tell me about it. double edged sword. relieved to be home sleeping in my own bed... but so hard to get back into the routine of actual daily life. Made even harder by coming back mid-week... I just want to wait until next week to start cooking, doing laundry, and working out... that's not so wrong is it?
Haley,
God bless waffles.. the perfect food...except Friday's when Kid and I indulge in our Trader Joe's Chocolate Croissants. Which I have to start thawing NOW because it is so cold that my kitchen isn't warm enough to allow them proof fast enough. Damn winter. And boy does winter suck when you have to walk around in the damn city. I do NOT miss that! I had a huge full length black down coat I wore... which I call the Mofo...which was ridiculous when trying to sit on the subway!
TRUST us you wouldn't like it! It was 5.. yes 5 freaking degrees this morning when I went out. That is fucking cold.
Honestly the cold doesn't bother us. We were in Indianapolis in February and it was 0 degrees when we got there. I know that months on end of it would get a little old, but I think the mess from the snow and ice would bother me more.
Also, you can't get mad at Baby. She's way too cute!
You and Michelline need a winter smack down! Indianapolis...puh...lease... that is practically IN the South! Did you have to do anything outdoors?! Like scrape your car?!
You guys will have to come up here so Michelline can go to the crazy Christmas store.. although be forewarned that it is called a CHRISTmas store!
Did you have to do anything outdoors?! Like scrape your car?!
We played in the snow behind the VA. Libby liked Indy better than London. No snow in London. I'll put the pictures on flickr.
