Sorry about the ear infection- I hope all is well today. I'm not certain how I fell into your blog (perhaps Sloching Mom?) but I've been reading bfor a while and followedyour suggestion of Nora's blog, and wanted to ask: Don't you think it's a fake? There are internal inconsistencies and I think she probably is Sara as she "said" in her last post. What do you think?
G in Berlin, "Don't you think it's a fake?" I don't know! And that is part of the addiction I suppose. I wasn't at all shocked to have her say it was fake in that last post since my grandmothers do not talk in the "voice" she uses. I'm dying to know though...
well as it turns out it isn't an ear infection. So we have no antibiotics and I do fear another bad night may be on the horizon.... but don't worry I've started drinking ;)
I was wondering about Nora's blog too... and if it's fiction! Somehow it just isn't quite convincing me that the author is really who she/he says. But it is terribly addicting; I can't stop reading it regardless!!!
Fingers crossed that you FINALLY get some sleep!! Last night I was woken up four times (one "I'm huuunnnggrryyy", one wet pjs-but she did make it to the bathroom so easy to clean, one crying baby who wanted a 2am snack, and one random "mommy" and when asked what they wanted "i don't know") and I was BEAT. I don't know how you get through the day!!
(and as far as teething, and this may sound horribly harsh, but I almost wish babies could have just one HORRIBLE day of crying and discomfort and *presto*--mouth full of teeth! i swear, you get past one tooth just to move on to the next..grrrr...for us AND them...)
Five ear infections in 6 months and Eli is currently working on six teeth I think (the top four (he already had two) are almost done), so I totally get you.
In related news, after several fruitless visits to the pulmonlogist a couple months ago, his regular ped. gave him singulair. Within a week he had stopped coughing and hasn't been sick in 1.5 months. He is now off all inhaled medicines, decongestants, won't be having ear surgery and is sleeping SOMEWHAT better.
I think it's some sort of miracle drug and I want to give the pediatrician a big fat kiss.
Marie, Oh I'd take one horrible day over what this one has been going through. Jeez could she stretch it out anymore?!? She's 14 months and only just got the first 8 poking through. Can't wait for those darn molars! If she starts in with the screaming tonight she's getting some benadryl. After last night I am shocked this isn't an ear infection.
Nutmeg, Oh that is great news!
Emily, Isn't it addictive? One odd thing... neither of my grandmothers would ever say "boobs" they'd more likely say bosoms... so that always stood out at me. But then I think who would go to the trouble of creating all those characters and plotting out their daily lives? Mystery.... How are your taxes? I'm hoping we're through by Monday. I'll be done with my part anyway... Mr F? Maybe not. Oh I'm going to see if I can get my mom to bring me some pics this week so I can post one for you. I don't have any of myself at that age.
Aww...poor baby. We just went through this. Add cutting an eye teeth and some molars and you have a recipe for a C.R.A.N.K.Y babe. Hope she's better soon!
About Nora...living as I do among the aged I find they talk very differently among themselves than with others, especially widows. I find Nora's voice perfectly believeable. What I didn't find believable was Nora's April Fool's confession. That "joke" seemed out of character and decidedly male to me.

Maybe it's not Nora who is faking, but Baby!
Okay, probably not.
