Or Maybe God Is Talking To Kid...

As I walk into the room Kid announces "We're like... 'hey, I'm ancient'."
Revealing, yet again, her bizarre mix of teen slang and religious/mythological obsessions.

"You're ancient?" I repeat not sure where Kid was going to take the discussion.

To which Kid quickly adds "Yeah that's what Israelites do... and we're Israelites in this game."

Oh I should have guessed....

Just want you to know that I am thinking of you - when I moved from Carlisle, Pa. to Houston, Texas I went into real culture shock - couldn't watch any weather programs because then I would see a map and realize just how far I was from family & friends - and I would cry - GMA and the Today show were off my list - I will tell you that it takes a year for a Mom with kids to get totally "at home" in a new place - it can happen sooner but with my moves I found it was really a year - and that was before the internet and cell phones.

You're right. I think something bigger is going on here. Israelites?! This is hilarious!

Send that kid to the convent!
As a church-going Mormon, I think her obsession is totally adorable!
Kind of strange, but completely adorable!

I'll be back... Kid got a bubble gun wound into her long LONG hair... and it is a two handed job! ;)

emmy,
do you still have my email? I've dying to know what's been going on for you lately.

Claire,
Thank you so much for thinking of me. It is funny that you say that about the weather... I have my computer home page still set to Ann Arbor weather and just yesterday I changed it since it was making me homesick.

Amy,
I often feel sorry for her that she wasn't born into a more devout family.
The little girl from across the street came over and Kid said "Do you want to listen to Bible stories on my CD player?!"

Julie,
For real... Isrealites!?! I don't even know who they are!

ok, no Internet at my house means it's all by iPhone right now.... that why I haven't commented or updated!! I've been keeping the food diary but am unable to post it right now!!

Kid is wonderful, and whatever she believes.... well it's working for her!!!

More soon, I hope, I'm freaking out without Internet access!!!

The Israelites are Abraham and his descendants (today we call them Jews --by birth/race--not religious conversion)...and they are God's chosen people. God established a covenant with Abraham promising to "bless those who bless you (and your descendants) and curse those who curse you". That covenant is why the U.S. has always been pro-Israel...for fear that our nation would be cursed by God if we turned our backs on them. God--i.e. Jehovah God of the Book, also known as the Bible--has certainly blessed this nation--what nation compares? Kid is one smart cookie.

What so many U.S. citizens don't understand in this current globalism is this: religion is at the center of all conflict...it is the crux of the issue. People live and behave according to their beliefs---that is what religion is---...and other countries and cultures are not devoid of religion anymore than we are.
