You Know You're A Bad Ass Homemaker

When you hear yourself say...

"Where the fuck is my stain stick?"

(no sailor talk in the video... I promise)

I kind of knew it would ;)

What brand do you use? My girls have taken to mud wrestling on the playground during recess these days and I'm looking for something good.

Suzy,
Well I have to say I've tried them all and I used to be a big time Shout user BUT I've switched to the good old Spray N' Wash Stain Stick (w/Resolve Power) and it's been getting out nearly everything... I've been really happy with it!

I think its fantastic that youve nursed this long and I hear you on the no sleep I dont know if Ive slept more than 4 hours at a time(or without a little body next to me we co-sleep) since the begining of 2006.

You are such a bad ass and you know I love the sailor talk. LOVE IT.

I have not watched the video yet because I haven't been home again all freaking day. Been playing the helpful mom part at the school and it is definitely getting tiresome. This weekend is Murphy's 3 day birthday extravaganza, too, so lots of prep for that. I look forward to all this shit being done.

btw, I emailed you the other day. Just want to make sure you got it (you don't have to reply.)

Aw shit Julie... I did get it and then completely forgot. I meant to sit down and reply and then it got bumped down below where I can't see it.
I'll get back to you!!

Andrea,
it's a long road but worth it :)

I'm glad I had my headphones squished in the bottom of my bag today, because I got to listen to your video at work, and man did I need a distraction -- my night is crawwwwwwling by. Anywho, I have a feeling once I get to that stage, I may be a similar "I'm feeling a general ennui...time for a bambino!" kind of lady. God, I could end up with quite a brood if that's the case...

Glad to hear you're taking things day by day, and enjoying looking into your options of Rome and babies and the like -- keep at it.

When my life isn't going the way I want...I usually want to move...

I'm off tomorrow, want to come over??? This is what Heather(out of Hand) and I say to each other!

Mrs F, you have such a great sense of humor. That is one of the things I just love about you. I know you will be just fine, I just wanted you to know that we care about you. Now if you start going to daily morning mass with the little old lady neighbors, then I'd be a bit more worried. You know I don't worry about you when your language gets salty. C'mon, let's see more of the f-bomb. What a sad, sad life I lead when I get such a kick out say the f word and hearing other bad ass mommies say it, too.

Okay, you know I am tired when I keep rambling.

Wow, I am with you on the sleep--since Dec. 2002 for me...and, I am still nursing my little guy. I told myself to wean him at one, before he has an "opinion", LOL, but I just couldn't do it that early. I pretty much have him down to nighttime--lately, I have been sending him to bed with my oldest, so that he won't nurse to sleep. (He still comes to me at some point in the night, though...).

I have an unrelated question--in one of your videos, you mentioned cashmere (was it Land's End?)--something about the quality...if you remember what I am talking about, can you repeat that? I will go back through the videos if I need to, LOL!
:)Thanks,
Kat

Running away to Rome is my stress releiver too...

I'll totally go with you. I'll watch the kids sometimes!

(I almost drove the company truck to the airport this summer... oh how I wanted to.)

Kat,
Yes Lands End!

It's amazing how connected the internet makes us all. I can so relate to your mood, etc...
Hang in there. You will find your groove.
It's funny about the hair stylist idea. I never really longed to do it. Have been doing it since I was 13 and decided to get paid for it. Started college and realized I could make more $ doing hair than what my Major had to offer. So 21 years later, still making people beautiful. You know Mrs. F., it's never too late. You would be quite succesfull, I'm sure. It's that connection with people.

mrs. f-
great update. that's what i love about you: facinating, surprising and real. (I KNOW you feel all those things today...)

So interesting to me that you nurse that long. Your kids seem great so it's obviously the right thing for you all. (aside from your lack-of sleep. UGH.)

I have a friend in Raleigh who did a la leche "sit-in". Ever heard of it? FACINATING. Ladies, kids, floor of VIctoria's Secret, boobs. Quite a visual huh?

Hope your day today is a good one.
