Better... Right?

Just thought of this:
The flash is giving too much shadow on the lashes since they aren't sewn down... they look better in real life.
I'm not putting them on this one because I think it is more babyish without, but I'll definitely do it on the ones I make my girls. I'm going to make bigger throw pillow sized versions of the girls for their beds (no I won't be doing that in time for Christmas). I'm just going to make them with an overlapping slit in the back and make them as covers for the pillows you can buy uncovered at the fabric store.

Cute yes. I didn't think it was so bad before, but this is more adorable.

Thanks. Mr F was silently mocking me.... I could feel it and I needed to try and make it better. Unfortunately I had already stuffed and sewn it up so I was limited in how I could improve it. I'm glad I did it though... it looks much more like what I had intended now. Next time... smaller eyes.

Much better... Next time, I think a little contrasting upside down u shape on the face felt for a nose, if that makes sense. maybe oval shaped eyes with pupils... I don't know.

I seriously am trying to think of a baby I need to give a gift to, because I like your idea so much!!!!

Nutmeg,
I'm not sure what you mean but I'm going to cut a u out and see if I get it. Yes to the pupils. Both of the girls want one that looks like them now... so I'll get some practice in. I need to go get some more felt in better colors so I can make a better face. I really wish I had pink!!! And if I did it again I would have cut the bang piece with wisps instead of just a straight edge. You'd only need to do one or two to make it look more like hair and less like a cap.

Off to experiment!

Okay just took this one notch cuter... for a girl version.. I put two tiny triangles as eyelashes on the outside edges of each eye. Cute.

So cute! Felt is a wondrous thing, isn't it?

I went on a little crafting craze this morning too -- cabin fever has officially set in since I've been stuck by the snow for a good three days now.

I just posted photos of my nifty new crane garland. :)

I know the pillow is for a baby so the safety factor on my idea might not be right, but what about shiny black buttons for the pupils and if you could find a heart button for the nose??? Just thinking out loud...but I love the addition of the eyelashes, it is a precious gift and more wonderful because it was made by your hand!!!

You're really good! Much less Mr. Bill.

Merry Christmas! Hope it's happy.
