Heartbroken

My chest literally aches. I just keep seeing all his puppy days running through my mind. Then I see his bone left under my desk. His food bowl still filled waiting for him to come home and eat it. His basket of toys overturned in the living room.

I'm devastated.

Just completely devastated.

You can read Mr F's eulogy HERE.

Hey Mrs. F.

So sorry to hear about Putty, he was an awesome dog and will be missed.

I was sorry to miss you and the kids this summer, but at least I got to see Putty one last time.

We are thinking of you guys.

I'm sorry Mrs. F. It is so difficult to lose a pet (or, as Smitty aptly put it, a close family member). I am keeping you all in my thoughts.

So sorry. We lost our kitty last week, and I spent the whole week wallowing in sadness and grief, which I didn't think would happen over the loss of a pet. BUt they are members of our family, and their presence is missed when they are gone. Hugs to you and your kids.

I am so so sorry for the loss of dear Putty.

And those are some freaking HUGE hives on baby. WOW! Have you tried Benedryl? HUGE!!!

Thanks everyone.

Me, Myself & I,
crazy huge... and that is with Benadryl every 6 hours!! I did call the Dr and they said unless she gets them in her mouth or starts to have trouble breathing it's okay. She seems to be reacting to a virus. Even though I know it's probably okay seeing them this big is STRESSING me out!!! She has had hives before but never this bad. It's crazy.

Oh Mrs F. I am so sorry!

It is awful when you lose a beloved pet. We lost our Border Collie, Jess 3 years ago and I still tear up occasionally about her.

We always say she was our first baby, and she was Mr Mole's first ever dog. He was completely devastated.

Anyway ((((((hugs)))))

To see you grieving and clearly in pain is what is making me tear up...give yourself time and talk about Putty as much as you want...we're here for you! {{offering strong shoulder}}

Even when they drive you insane, they worm their way into your heart. Big hugs to all of you.

Kid's alternating between sadness/grieving and denial/coldness.

She's trying to put on a brave face, but when she thinks about it, she breaks down.

Baby hasn't grasped it yet. We sort of thought she understood...but when I came home from work today, she yelled, "Daddy!!! And Putty?"

I about lost it.

She thinks he's still at the "dog hotel."

Do dogs go to heaven? Of course they do! Can you doubt that the God who made them wouldn't have a good place for his doggies? There's green grass and cool shade, their bellies are full and they run and play. There they are and there they'll be, wagging their tails to greet us when eventually we join them.

I knew Putty and he was a wonderful dog. Our love and sympathies are with you.
