This Week The Plan

Alrighty. This is going to be a busy week with Baby's fist birthday and all. Oh and we have to go eat Ethiopian food before the end of the month (yes that is about all we did for "Africa"... better luck next month).

This week went pretty well. I stuck to most of my goals. I only did four days of exercise but I am tired and I just needed to give it a rest this weekend. I stuck to my menu. I did about 200 loads of laundry... still haven't washed my sheets even though they are actually stiff from Baby's constant drool. I let my desk get out of control but I did a major clean up and got it back to organized last night. I even started out taxes!!!

Okay on to this week:

MENU

Monday - Sweet Potato & Molasses Beef Stew

Tuesday - Salmon Noodle Casserole & Salad

Wednesday - Date Night (Kid asked me out!)

Thursday - Baby's Birthday at Ethiopian Restaurant.... hey she's too young to have a preference

Friday - Meatball Soup & rolls

Saturday - Brown Sugar & Ginger Salmon w/ stir fried vegetables & spring rolls

Sunday - Homemade Pizza

CLEANING & CHORES

Monday - put away clothes & vacuum

Tuesday - Neuro appt & Grocery Shopping

Wednesday - bake b'day cake & vacuum

Thursday - enjoy B'day & ice cake

EXERCISE

I am going to take the time to increase all the springs on my reformer. I am going to do 2 - 70 minute cardio workouts and 2 - 60 minute pilates workouts. I'm out for Wednesday and Thursday so I doubt I'll get more than 4 workouts in this week.

SPECIAL PROJECT

Sleep. I am going to take half a Unisom at 10:30 every night this will ensure I'm out by 11 PM.
Also I'm going to focus on keeping my desk cleared off.

Pick Turkey for next month, and I'll help you out by traveling there for you this week.

Happy birthday to Baby!!

Ethiopian food... lol, my kids would never make it in your house! We'll probably be having burgers and fries that night. :)

Happy Birthday Baby F! Sounds like a good plan and like you got a lot done after all :) I only got 4 cardio days in too (still doing my 4 strength workouts too) but we got to go see my niece who is finally home from the hospital so it was a fair trade.

Emmy,
I'm happy to hear your niece is home. :)

Deb,
Turkey?... I'll have to confer with Kid. I also need to find a Turkish restaurant before I commit. In these parts that shouldn't be too hard.

Gigs,
Ethiopian food is actually very kid (or baby) friendly.
You get to eat with your hands. Everything is served with a weird yet delish kind of spongy flat bread. Yes probably a hard sell for your kids... but it is basically like eating baby food with bread... what's not to like?! It is a crazy carb overload though.

I went to Trader Joes last night and got all the stuff to make the famous meatball soup. I can't wait.

Happy Birthday to baby!

Sounds like a good plan! Good for you for making your goals more realistic this week. My week is going to kill me.

I'm just going to start using your menu every week. It will save me some time and brain power. LOL

I wonder how many times I can use the word "week" in this comment. week

Your week sounds almost reasonable.

I'm going to undertake your special project in my house too. The semester starts in two weeks and I'm going to be getting a field season started, finishing my dissertation proposal and taking three classes. I can barely see straight at this point, so I'm not sure how that is going to work. I went to bed at 9 last night.asw3

the "asw3" was a coded message from E. to baby.

Sorry guys... I'll be back... just spent over an hour trying to put Baby down to no avail and now I have to double time it on dinner!

Eurydice,
yeah Unisom is a sleeping pill... but it is actually an antihistimine so it is non-addictive. I only take 1/2 and even that knocks me out... I suspect it is a little bit of a placebo effect for me ;)

Nutmeg,
The Unisom does help me fall asleep and return to sleep after all the wakings. I wasn't sleeping soundly enough not to wake up though. I took that week of my complete break down and then last week didn't take it at all. I feel like I really was more rested when I took it. This week will be my test on that. But I have some insomnia going on.

P.O.M,
I hope you guys like it. But so far the consensus has been pretty positive... of course I suppose if someone didn't like it they wouldn't tell me ;)

Robin,
you should do my menu. This week I'm trying to see if I can spend less on my groceries by doing this combo of meals. I barely need to buy anything.

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes!

I'm debating what kind of cake/frosting to make.

Mrs. F-
Sometimes, I take a melatonin tab if I need a bit of help falling asleep....seems to work for me!

Jenny,
when do you have to take it? In the morning or right before bed?
I might try that. Although the added bonus of the unisom is that it dehydrates me a bit and I don't have to go pee in the night ;)

Hey Mrs. F-

I take it about 20 minutes before bed. I'm out like a light! Look for them with the vitamins. :o)

It is something I only take if I need it. Haven't had one in quite awhile.

Jenny,
thanks
I really think you could give me a sugar pill and I'd fall asleep.
I've got to look up if thats safe with the breastfeeding and then I'll go get some when I go to the store tomorrow.
