"Like American jazz, flamenco dancing involves improvisation. Its the dancer’s spontaneous expression of the moment’s emotions. The Spanish call it duende (DWEN-day). The word means goblin or fairy, but to the flamenco dancer it signifies an inner force that fuels an inspired performance.
A dancer with duende goes beyond technical mastery to vent his or her feelings, achieving a powerful, compelling dance. Those who aren’t singing may shout encouragement: olé or ¡baile! ¡baile! — dance! dance! As an observer, you don’t really see good flamenco, you feel it."
Thanks to Alexis Givens for the powerful description. No one could have said it better.

At first I thought that was Baby's new blanket being whipped around in a frenzy of music and movement...looks like there is fun to be had at the Furious home tonight!!! Thanks for sharing the laughter!
That is much harder than it looks by the way... and I'm counting it as tonight's cardio! Seriously I almost collapsed.
Dude, I wish you had been my mom. That looks like so much fun.
I hope I'm that wild and crazy with my kids!!! They'll always remember that sort of thing,
I'm thinking that you actually got Baby's meth.
HolyTazmanianDevil.
LOL!
Alas, the music doesn't come through clearly...
Let me highly recommend the CD from Rodrigo y Gabriella. Even before and after this little routine, none of us could keep our feet still.
It's a good thing you live like a thousand miles away because if we lived in the same time zone we might take the whole world down with our zany antics, I feel like I'm looking at a freakin' mirror.
Seriously.
Best. video. ever.
That TOTALLY counts as cardio,I think you could sell it as a workout video ;) It made my day,and I should have called you because even though Ella is sick, I think she got some meth too and is not sleeping at all and I am working this weekend, kind of scary, the drowsy nurse...
Since meeting you at the tender age of six, I always knew you had a special spark, a je ne sais quoi, the soul of a dancer. Yes, those endless hours of dance classes (i.e. the ones we made up in the living room) taught my seasoned professionals (you and I) would lead to a career like no other.

And boy did I feel it. Best thing ever.
Good times at the Furious house. Love it!
By the way ,I have been using the calorie count site you talked about,I love it!So much easier than writing everything, thanks for the tip.
Alexis,
That is the funniest thing I have ever read. Oh jesus... I was laughing so hard I was actually crying!
I had to quote it and put it in my post!
During this morning's encore presentation...
KID (dancing): "Dad, that's not the way you do it...you just don't know the way to do the 'talian."
ME: "It's not Italian, it's Mexican"
KID: "I know that. The music is mexican, but the dance is 'talian."
I tried to post and it said it was a duplicate and didn't go thru. darn blogger.
Anyway - that looks like so much fun. I love Dance Parties in the living room. Everytime I visit my sister, we rock out in the living room with my 2yr old neice. She likes to dance on the table. So fun!
P.O.M.,
having kids to dance with is one of the best parts of parenthood... no matter what you do they think you are a total badass!
I love your style! you are a super fun mom, I can't even begin to imagine my mum letting loose like this :0)
Shirls,
Oh I dance like a freak about 75% of the time. I always wished I had been a *real* dancer.... maybe in my next life....
HOW did I miss this little gem? I should have stayed home from vacation just for this (many thanks to Mr. F for linking to it today). After watching it three times, my own kid was saying, "more, more".
