I am so on top of things when Tom is away or comes home late from work. When he is here, I tend to resent him if I am doing everything (or feel that I am.) I totally agree with you on that front.
I love that Kid watches Jon & Kate...I tried to get Murphy to watch one with me the other day. No interest there. Waah.
What a freaking machine you were tonight with all the cleaning. That is just awsome. I don't feel like cleaning in my house ever again. I wondered today what would happen if I just never cleaned the bathroom again. It was just a fantasy of course. Wow, did I just say that? That is what a fantasy is to me now? Not having to clean the bathroom. Sad and pathetic.
btw, I totally missed the whole good for you beauty product discussion a few days ago. I used a lot of Kiss My Face products. I like em. Just bought the Method Kids body wash today. Apparently, I was washing my kids with poison with the J&J body wash:)
Oh yeah Kid loves J&K+8... she wants us to have 6 more kids! (she doesn't really get the whole vasectomy issue) The only downside is that I think Mady is a bit bratty and I don't like her to see that.
poison... I hear you. Every time I get in the shower I feel like I'm rubbing poison all over myself. Even just looking at the Dove bar I think "what am I doing!?!" but then I use it anyway...
Unbelievably I got everyone in bed (Kid's still awake) and Canine walked (in the fucking rain no less) and have taken my Unisom and am heading up.
What's there to stay up for?!? Which is hilarious since it isn't like Mr F and I do anything together anyway... just seems like I might as well close up shop... before I start eating...
I agree. When dh is working a lot and its just me and the girls, the house is easier to keep clean. I think its because I'm the only one to do it, so might as well. When he's home, I can get kinda pissy when I'm trying to clean and take care of the kids and he's sitting on the computer or something. (i even get that way when he's doing things like mowing the grass or changing the cars oil...because even though he's working he's still getting a break because he gets to do it without kids. kinda sad, but i get jealous of the solo oil change!)
And my girls are all about the tv for bedtime/naptime. My oldest two don't nap anymore, so when the baby is ready to go for her nap, they get to watch "Max and Ruby" or "Super Why" (I dvr a few each week). Its the only way I can get 10 minutes to get her down and have them not screaming for me or at each other! (I then use the rest of the 1/2 hr cartoon to run around and do laundry in the basement. they aren't allowed down there, so it works well). They used to get to watch another cartoon when the baby went to bed, but now they all have the same bedtime. I really don't know what else I could do besides the tv. I've tried leaving them happily playing or coloring, but it always seems that as soon as they know I'm gone, they are screaming "MOMMY" at the top of their lungs!
And Julie...I am sooooooo with you with the never cleaning the bathroom fantasy again! Our water leaves a pink filmish grime in the seams of our bathtub..ewwwwww..and it takes forever to clean no matter how often you do it! And we won't even talk about the front of the toilet bowl or those little indents at the back base which somehow captures pee....sooooo disgusting! Ugh!
I always, always get more done when my husband is away. For me it is because I really ask/expect him to do a lot when he is around [not that he necessarily does everything, or does it to my standards:)...], and when he's not I just automatically do it myself and then some. Also, truly, I think my boys listen better and are more helpful when it's just me (maybe because I am the more consistent disciplinarian!) and that helps me get stuff done too.
I think you are right about the no one to resent thing, that is so true for me. LOL about going to bed so you won't eat, I would to if I had lemon bars in the kitchen;) I have been painting trim in the boys bedroom all week on top of all the other homeschool, ousehold life in general stuff and I feel like crud.My kids also want me to have more kids, at least one more boy and one more girl. I cannot imagine driving one of those 15 passenger vans... I am not sure I could do it right now, Ella's asthma is in full on spring gear and she coughs every 2 minutes all night long. FUN!
Gigs, " I think my boys listen better and are more helpful when it's just me (maybe because I am the more consistent disciplinarian!) and that helps me get stuff done too." It is funny you write that because I've been really aware of that with this trip. Kid isn't pushing me at all... it's like she has a "were all in this together" mentality.

Okay I'll be back...
oh Emmy,
you're having a rough week!
15 passenger van?! Dear God... no!
I'm hitting the wall right now with just the two underfoot! ;)
I take back what I said about Kid not pushing my buttons. The honeymoon is over. Kid has crossed over to the dark side....
