Hey remember when I used to put up a weekly plan?! Remember how boring those posts were to read? I sure remember how boring they were to write.
The thing is... they improve the quality of my life. Well, they improve the quality of my productiveness. Feeling more productive makes me feel more in control... and feeling in control makes me feel a little less like killing myself (I jest).
So the weekly plan makes it's triumphant return... TODAY!
Menu:
Sunday - Black Bean & Turkey Soft Tacos; mint brownies
Monday - Chicken Soup w/ Dumplings (in Cook's Country - this recipe rocks the house); mint brownies
Tuesday - Honey & Orange Glazed Salmon w/ smashed potatoes & asparagus; sugar cookies
Wednesday - Turkey Meat Sauce w/ Penne & California Mix veggies; sugar cookies
Thursday - Scallion & Ginger Shrimp w/ Noodles; sugar cookies
Friday - Homemade Pizza w/ salad; chocolate cake
Saturday - Frozen Chinese Food (ALDI); chocolate cake
Kid's School Snack & Lunch:
M - leftover pizza, hard boiled egg, yogurt, milk, kiwi
T- leftover soup, hard boiled egg, yogurt, milk, pineapple
W- school pizza day, hard boiled egg, pineapple, yogurt, milk
Th - leftover salmon, potatoes & asparagus, hard boiled egg, pineapple, yogurt, milk
F - leftover shrimp & noodles, hard boiled egg, yogurt, banana, milk
Diet & Exercise:
Well my body is falling apart. I'm having all sorts of body pain again... not just the tailbone. I really need to get my core strength back... but I'm not sure how I can. So this week I'm just going to start walking (no incline) at 3 mph for 30 minutes a day and focus on my posture. That's really all I can do for now.
I'm also going to get back to calorie counting.
Chores & Errands:
Sunday - house pick up, major grocery shop
Monday - laundry
Tuesday - put away laundry, vacuum, Baby's class
Wednesday - make sure we have all tax documents or have requested them
Thursday - start organizing tax documents
Friday - organize craft supplies, clean off counter
Saturday & Sunday - do whatever the hell I want

Saturday and Sunday sound like FUN! We bought annual passes to Disney World this year, since all the kids can finally enjoy it, we have gone 3 out of the last 4 weekends! I'm tired! I think I'm doing your plans for the weekend! LOL
it must be nice to be able to be this organized.. oh and I'll be over for din din on sunday and friday...
Slick Willie,
it's all an act ;)
BsOnlyToots,
We had annual passes last year... we couldn't really max it out like we could have living here. It kills me to think if we had them we could drive down there all the dang time!
In the future...
I love the weekly plan and am so glad it has reappeared, it sounds all good too!! Take it easy on that treadmill!! I love control too...whatever works is what I say!!
I love This Week The Plan!
I'm oddly fascinated with the incorporation of sweets after every dinner. Hmm.
Heather,
it's always been like that I'm just writing it down. Since I'm not buying pre-made stuff I have to have a plan for baking so that there is still dessert. It's for the kids ;)
I made your shrimp with broccoli and noodles yesterday...it was a huge success in my house too! Thanks!
Kiki,
Argh the stupid DirecTV receiver that is for my treadmill TV broke and I couldn't workout. Tomorrow...
Eleanor,
LOL
Kniki,
Oh I'm glad you all liked it!
Ahhhh... I love the weekly plan. It makes me feel calm and organized by association.
I'm also psyched that the plan is back.
Also, I definitely feel for your forced inactivity. I need my cardio as a mood stabilizer.
Hey thanks for the $12 haircut love. My contribution to the family budget - cheap haircut and less shampoo. =)
We are headed your way in May, in the car, God help us... would love any advice you have.
Heather
Splaneyo,
Why on Earth are you guys driving down to Greensboro?!!! (I think that's where you are going)
I don't know anything about it there but I've got a couple of readers over there. Maybe they'll shout out.
P/F,
who knew the plan was so popular!
Haley,
the challenge is carrying through on them
Ackkkk!!! That is a disaster, I have a wacky treadmill combination, I put my iPhone on with the iloveradio app which plays my fave radio stations from NYC and the t.v on mute, but on some movie that I have seen before.
I hope your Direct T.V thing-y gets fixed and soon so you can get back on the horse with me. It's 10:42 p.m and I could use the nudge to get on the treadmill tonight.
Holy long comment...sorry!!
Sophie's Choice! If there is one piece of motherly advice I should have given you it is Never Watch Sophie's Choice!
I am so happy to see the the weekly plan back. It inspires me to do the same. I agree with Haley...it makes me feel more organized just by reading it.
I've been in a funk, too. We'll get our groove back.
Hey! Failing to plan is truly planning to fail in my world. Who cares if it's boring read for your followers! So is "I gained again this week, I so suck"!
Truly, blogging is for YOU, not your followers. They are just along for the ride. Voyeurs, if you will.
I write for ME. I write to encourage and plan my own success. But then, I'm kinda hard that way... lol.
Yeah - I love to see the plan. I'm not so much into reading the detail of your 'this week the plan' but I know that it's presence says good things about being present and putting intentions into action. It also makes me remember to write my plan down for the week.
Julie,
why doesn't that sound very convincing?
Dee,
ah thanks... it is always a delicate balance for me to stay focused on myself in all areas.
P/F,
that's a good thing
Oh, I love the plan....since I'm trying to go all organic it has drastically changed my stand by menu items so having some new, fresh ideas is exactly what I need...I've tried quite a few of your recipes now and they are all great. Thanks for helping me get organized and bring a little sanity to my life!
And I know this doesn't help your situation at all but as you well know, I feel the exact same way as you regarding Asheville so I hope it help to at least know you are not alone in your feelings...it is really TOUGH when you have to LOOK for ways to be happy and I feel the same as you...you shouldn't have to look SO hard to find the 'good' things....I'm generally a happy, optimistic person and I've realized that since moving here, I just haven't been that same person and its a real downer but I can't seem to figure out a way to get over it and be happy again-ARGH! HELP! :) Maybe the vision board is what I need as well....
I forgot to ask-and this is just curiosity-do you try NOT to eat red meat?
We have dessert after pretty much every dinner as well :) What's a meal without dessert?
Renee,
re: red meat, we do eat it and I used to buy it up until I started trying to lower our food budget. The thing is that both Mr F & I have a much harder time digesting it and I had decided to try and steer away from it anyway. Plus the meat I buy is really expensive and I can't guarantee which cuts will be available so menu planning around it was hard...so it was a practical budget cut. We still do pork tenderloin every other week or so but I'm kind of saving red meat for going out or a special occasion steak.
