Dude... potty training a hider is proving to be terribly difficult for me. I always know when he's going but he always denies that he needs to sit on the potty.

I can always tell he's pooping, because he goes in another room, plays and then gets VERY quiet for a couple of minutes.

I have a hider too! Too funny!

I asked her the other day when she'd be ready to go poop and pee in the potty and she said ...

"not yet"

She'll be all contorted in a corner and then come out and adamantly deny there's anything in her pants.

Stella will be 3 in August and she has always denied any thing in her diaper despite the foul odor indicating the contrary. I just took her and Mia out of daycare since I failed **sob**, anywho, they couldn't get her to sit on the potty. They would ask her "Don't you want to be a big girl?" To which she would respond "No."

She tells me "I can't do it." I did get her up there one day and she did pee but REFUSED to talk about it later. When I told my husband that she went potty she screamed "NO I DIDN'T"

Christy,
Baby had one of those early (but fleeting) interests in it about 6 months ago. She's had a couple of days when she wanted to go without the diaper but then I found her frozen and crying hysterically over wet pants... so... she's not ready. I'm hoping we'll hammer it out in the summer when she can be outside wearing no pants!

Eli peed on the potty once. We've spent inumerable hours sitting on the potty.

In anycase, what usually happens is. Come home from day care. Eli hangs out quietly in the porch/playroom area and I pop my head in and ask if he wants to sit on the potty. He says no. I leave him alone to poop. He comes running into the living room, pulling at the seat of his pants, crying about his stinky diaper and asking to sit on the potty. I calmly explain that you sit on the potty BEFORE you poop, not after. Anyway. He is also NOT READY.
