I know all too well about that limbo shit with whether family members are coming to visit or not. It's annoying for us as adults, but it is even more so wrong when it comes to the kids. Seriously. Argghh.
We have some family members (and one friend) who do the same thing. At the last minute "something" comes up and they cancel. Well, fine, I really don't need you to visit, but the kids get all upset because they get so excited that they're coming. Its come to the point now that we just don't tell them that these particular people are coming and if they DO show up its a great surprise, and if not there are no tears and "why don't they want to visit me? I miss them!" (insert heart-breaking crocodile tears here with the saddest face ever).
I say screw them. If they show up, they can just stay in the "dirty" house and sleep on top of whatever mounds of stuff is around. You got better things to be doing!!!
As far as the job goes, I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. Who knows...if he gets the job, it could be the move to your dream house/area. If not, it could be what prevents you from buying "The Money Pit" (remember that movie?)
We are off to enjoy the 70+ degree weather here (yay!).
Okay we just got a little preliminary word the Editor is all in... we're just waiting to hear from the owner. But I'm feeling much more positive now than I was this morning.
That was iced coffee? Darn. I hate coffee, but that looked so delicious while you were making it that I wanted some (before I read the other comments and discovered what it was). You make it look so summery and "I want to sit on my front porch and watch traffic go by" yummy. Or am I just desperate for summer?
Glad to hear you got good news on the job front. It's happening. It is. What owner would go against their editor? Really.
Except when otherwise noted all recipes are the personal and creative property of Mrs Furious. Although you are welcome to cook them up and share them with your neighbor.... any attempt to reprint or profit from them is not permitted.

I hate being in limbo. I feel for ya.

First things first -- you're back with waffles! Hooray. Second, I LOVE me some iced coffee (decaf) and am going to make some tonight -- great idea.
Limbo is the very worst. Re: job: if it's supposed to work out, it will. Sounds cliche, but it always helps me settle down when I'm in a tailspin.
Sorry about the in-laws. That IS annoying.
I have to say I am furious.
Marie,
excellent point re: the cleaning. I'm not going to do it. If they come they can deal.
Man, not knowing really sucks.
BTW, your sweater is really cute, and your iced coffee looks delicious!

Still P.O'd with the in-laws.
Robin,
Oh the sweater is vintage Target ;)

As for the IL's. Meh. Hosers.
Mrs. Furious .. really is furious! hee hee.
Sorry, just trying to make you smile.
How rude to say we may or may not be coming. Have they never had company and know that you do special things for guests? Just very rude.
Funny Mom blog about Hate Mail: I think you and Mr. F should do dramatic readings (via video of course) from now on.
