I'm Calling In Sick

Mrs F announces.

"What does that mean?" Mr F asks.

"Figure it out." Mrs F retorts and walks out of the room.

I tell my mom often that sometimes this is like a bad babysitting gig with rotten kids, no good food and the parents are late getting back. Like, REALLY late. Where are they? I want to get out of here and spend all of the money I am earning on a cute denim skirt and some cold beers...oh well...

Oh, Mrs F, I am so with you on the wanting "call in sick" thing...and when I am truly so sick I can't do my regular stuff (like never happens...only if I am profusely vomiting or something...even then), when I go back downstairs, it's like hell has taken over my house. So not worth it.

Well, I am off to my unpaid job at Murphy's school.

Oh, you are right about #1 reason! During my first visit of my second pregnancy, my OBGYN asked if I worked and I told him I stayed home with Kent. He said, "you work...you just don't get any benefits." Damn straight.

I never realize exactly how much I do around the house until I get sick and spend the whole day on the sofa. Then it is apparent that I do plenty. :)

Julie,
God wouldn't it be great if you really could have a sick day and someone else came in so you could actually be left alone to recoup in peace?! Oh to dream..

Robin,
