Is It Wrong...

That I'm secretly hoping that when Mr F goes downtown today to retrieve his car from the lot (where I parked it before the ice skating incident) he'll find it's been stolen?

That when Kid's school called today to offer doing a food tree for us my first thought was... "Cha Ching!" ? (My second thought was damn hippies... it'll probably all be tofu lasagna)

Make sure you keep that link to the awards somewhere near the top of your page -- it's an excellent reminder!

Fingers crossed that your car's in a chop shop. :)

just leave the keys in it ;-)

here's to your mom getting there asap!

Hmm...maybe park it in front of your house, start it up, and leave it running overnight unlocked...should be gone by morning ;-)

And hey--it may be tofu, but its probably organic tofu, right?? Thats so sweet of them...people don't generally do things like that around here. (not that they don't care..its just a more "me" centered school we're in as far as the parents attitudes go)

I was having the same fantasy on my bike ride into work.

That car actually WAS stolen right out of our driveway in Ann Arbor, and the police found it in two hours.

Dammit!

Angie said...

even then you were hoping it wouldn't be found.

Angie,
What do we have to do to get rid of that car!!?! ;)

Haley,
Oh don't worry I'll keep that link up where you can see it!

Marie,
I'm surprised they offered. I didn't accept it yet I'm trying to figure out when it would be of maximum helpfulness.

Funny your going to do the Whole Foods stock-up once a month--I was just thinking that rather than have Mr. F go there, you should just go once a month and stock up on frozen/nonperishables...all the great food/prices, none of the random impulse buys (sorry Mr F!). And then its only fresh stuff once a week or so from the regular store.

Its so hard when financially you have to make decisions about your kids. Right now we are in a VERY similar situation (I left my part-time job in March to stay-at-home..we lost about $40,000 a year..). I would much rather lose stuff for myself than have the girls lose stuff. Right now they only have preschool (for 2 of them!) and dance class once a week (for 2 of them again). But thats about $465/mo...still, its worth it because they love it, they learn SO much, and they are thriving (even though its just pre-k, but honestly they just love learning, so i think they really need it)

Anyways, just think...its almost June, and with it comes warm weather, summertime, no oil bills, and NO TUITION UNTIL SEPTEMBER!!!!

I am so impressed how low you cut your grocery bill. I remember like a year ago we had a whole discussion on how much we spend on food shopping and correct me if I am wrong, but weren't you close to $200 a week. I remember because that was about what I spend. I have made a lot of changes this year though due to your inspiration!

But I did add organic milk to the mix so that did double the cost of the milk for a week.

Julie,
Yep around 200. Now I'm pretty much down to 100 maybe 130 on a crazy week. I think I can get it down to 75-80 (including the WF stock up). But we've now slashed everything extra/packaged.

Marie,
Yep that's the plan. I wish I had a chest freezer than we could really load up. He's pretty good at sticking to the WFs list and then once I'm better I can keep him out of the regular store ;)

Hi, Mrs. Furious- I was looking for a contact e-mail- do you have one?

Mr Furious said...

I don't deviate from the list at WF, though I always need to coffee-up for the ride home. And sometimes that means whatever the cheapest thing in the bakery case is...

Okay really, the funniest thing I've heard in a while is you referring to your husband as "a weird baby cat". Hilarious... And I was thinking that that car had already been stolen once before! Your budget plan sounds great. I voted for your blog and will continue to... I hope you win!
